  1. The reg doesn't end with ZRL by any chance?
  2. Just keep trying to push KCC for money, if you go far enough and you can prove it, they will pay out.
  3. Hi All, I ran my car on a dyno yesterday and was presented with some pretty interesting results. I am pretty annoyed, but also curious as to what I can do about it (if anything). I have an Audi A3 (2010) 2.0 TDI - 170bhp, which I had remapped around 2 years ago with Viezu tuning. I also have a few other mods (Miltek, BMC filter etc) but they do very little in terms of performance gains. So long story short, I took my car for a service around 2 months ago to my local audi dealer and when i got the car back it felt pretty slow again, not awful, but not great. Took my car to the Dyno and low and behold, i am back to 170 (Stock) with a pretty awful looking Dyno run (Not very smooth at all). Now i am no expert so i wanted to make sure the Dyno results were correct and I also need to understand what I can do in regards to Audi giving me some money for writing over my map. Please note, everything i take it in, i tell them not to do a software update, so they have either done it without telling me or even worse they have applied the emissions fix to my car which I have opted out of on a number of occassions. Can someone confirm, would a software update overwrite the map? And what is the best way forward? The company i took my car to were pretty decent they offered me a new map and dyno for £350, apparently they write there own maps from scratch and also sell maps to other providers. I was quoted around 210-215bhp other maps are quoting me around 225. Thanks P.s Dyno results attached.
  4. You could get plenty for that. Im looking to sell my Audi A3 2010 black edition, 175bhp model. I've had it valued at 7.5k if you can stretch your budget I can send you specs and pictures. It's full service history, 75k miles, Bose. It does have some modifications but all tasteful and legal. Veizu remap (circa 200bhp), h&s springs but not much lower then the standard s line and a miltek exhaust system (resonated). But obviously for 6k you could look at similar models, specs, milage etc.
  5. Nope, not that I aware of. I got a 2010 170, had it remapped the moment I got it. Been running perfectly since day 1. 75k on the clock....
  6. I've got the 170 2010 black edition. I know the engine changed from a CR diesel at some point. I know the 130bhp doesn't have a DPF. I Left mine. Pain in the !Removed! during MOTs. Although if you have a "mate" might not be an issue and I say might because obviously everyone who does an MOT will do it within the rules of the law.....yup....
  7. I probably should answer your question. But it's opinion based. Yes, the Audi a3 is a great car!
  8. Hi, I have a few mates with the 140bhp, decent enough car. I opted for the 170bhp (manual) and I've done a stage 2 map which is now pushing 210bhp. Map, exhaust and replacement filter. It destroys a GTI. The 130 can be taken to about 170 with a remap and filter.
  9. Yeah MAF sensor but usually you leave that bit attached. If not, you need to update the ECU so it doesn't error. Either way. I wouldn't really bother with a 1.6 in my opinion. You are better off keeping the standard unit as they are designed for optimal airflow. I would replace the panel filter with a BMC unit. You won't really get much out of it anyhow maybe 1-2bhp. You are better of looking at an exhaust, might get 5-10bhp on a miltek.
  10. Hi James, I had the old fiesta ST. Did quite a bit of work on that, but loved the exhaust. Was resonated but sounded great at high revs. Miltek system is circa £800 and not sure what the rough performance gains are or what it sounds like on a diesel.
  11. Google Pumpkin radio. Best things ever and they are cheap. audis system will set you back £1.5k basically.
  12. Hi All, I had my A3 TDI (170) remapped by Viezu about 2 years ago. Love the car but thinking about next steps. obviously everyone mentioned DPF delete but I can't be assed with changing it back. I hear you can get a sports CAT as part of some exhaust systems which increases flow but I find it a struggle to find any for the TDI. Any recommendations? Obviously with the recent law change and the fact they are well strict removing the DPF isn't an option. I hear Miltek is good, I used to have a Mongoose on my ST but wasn't the full system. obviously not sure what else I can add for increased power.
  13. 2 ways to tell 1) Is your road tax £130 a year or £30 if it's the latter it's the 140 2) If you have 2 outlets on your exhaust (one exhaust but 2 holes so to speak) then you have a 170bhp.
  14. In my "humble" opinion....No. As James has said, there are ALOT of different people out there who can remap etc. I would really research it. I went with Viezu tuning who are probably the biggest (or one of) and do all the BT fleet for there vans. Comes with a 1 million pound warranty as well. So if it kills the car, you are pretty much sorted. I would recommend them as they custom remap the car, so I asked for top end power, for Dual carriage way driving and motorway. It actually puts less strain on the car, because it doesn't have to work as hard to do the same thing. Obviously if you are a normal driver (don't thrash your car all the time and red line the hell out of it on every gear), what you do currently will require less effort once its remapped.
  15. Yeah, dead easy. Need a Torx t20 screw driver. There is a cylinder on the front left with 4 screws and has the fuel pips coming out of it. Just remove the lid, replace the filter and boom! I have a 2010 sport back can't imagine the engine layout is any different. You can google the location but it's dead easy, took me 10 mins. Just make sure you keep some fuel in the cylinder as its easier to prime. I would recommend turning the ignition on (don't power up the engineer) 5 times for 20 seconds you can hear it prime. Then starts first time! Got the filter of europarts for £12
