  1. Hi Steve, Thanks for that post. I guess my interest in Cars, is slightly different from that of others. I like driving. I like to think that my driving is improving( heehee) and I try to buy cars that fit what I want from them, while having none of the shortcomings that I can't stand. When I changed to my current Audi the salesman seemed to think I needed a bespoke vehicle........ I find it annoying, for example, that replacing headlight bulbs is so fiddly. I am trying to find a solution by making something to make it easier to twist the lampholder without having my hand inside the small opening and at a very odd angle. Cheers Geoff
  2. Hi Trevor, Thanks for that. I didn't realise when I signed up that the forum had so many sections. What happens at the meetings? Cheers Geoff
  3. Hi Steve, Thanks for all your efforts. The video from the bottom row of options shows the guy fitting the same bulbs as mine. Sadly he doesn't show the connector block clearly enough for me to make a tool to fit it without taking mine out again. removing the bumpers etc might come in useful though. Cheers for your time. Geoff
  4. Thanks for the welcome.Paul. Currently wanting to measure the connection block without removing it from the lamp unit.... too fiddly having to put it back.heehee
  5. Thanks for the welcome ,Steve. I have posted one question about removing headlight bulbs, in the hopes that I can make something to take out much of the fiddling and uncertainty. Geoff
  6. I have just fitted Philips Racing Vision H7's for the dipped beam. I struggled with the twisting of the connector having managed to get the lamp looking like it was in the right place( viewed from the front of the car) It was so tricky that I can't say for sure that it is fully in properly. I do a lot of little machining jobs at home and feel I could make something that would help with the fitting process. Imagine a sparkplug socket, to allow the turning to be done from just outside that deep hole that I struggled to get into with my big hand. What would be really useful is a picture of the inside of the lamp from the back, showing how the hole is shaped and where any cut outs are positioned. I can't quite figure out why it is so difficult to turn the bulb /holder. I wonder if the surfaces get very dry and if a lubricant of some kind would help.
  7. Hi, I am new to car forums but have owned different audis over the years. Latest is a tdi A3 Sportback that I am slowly trying to improve.First stage was a stiffer ARB on the rear, works well.
