Audi q7 fan constantly on

Hi, i am new to Audi's and also new to this forum, so i apologise in advance if this has been discussed already.

I have a RH 08 Audi Q7 with 85k on the clock which i purchased last month...My first Audi.... Recently i have noticed a constant humming coming from from the engine above the passenger wheel arch area when the car is off. The humming sounds like a fan and after a long drive this humming remains after the engine is turned off.i am aware that this is normal for a few minutes after shutdown but with my car this remains on constantly until it kills my battery. I have noticed if i drive the car when this humming is present and then turn it off after a short drive the humming stops.

This does not appear to be a the radiator Colling fan and not the internal blower which i had replaced as it died a week after i bought the car...

Does anyone have any ideas or experience with this? Or are aware of any other fan in that area....?

It sounds like an EVAP fan or similar...either way, it should only ever run for a few minutes after switching off.

I would probably take it to a dealer or specialist to check it out as it certainly does not sound right

Parking Heater

It was my aux heater that was the problem. Pulled the a5 fuse on the driver side location. And it stopped. Atleast now it is not draining the battery. Will look into to it further. What is causing to go bananas. Thanks for the help.

I had exactly this problem with my 2012 Q7 TDI and removing the fuse stopped it. Thanks a lot for the hint. Now need to get the aux heater fixed but luckily summer is coming so likely not urgent.

Audi Q7 may seem expensive for many people.

All German cars are expensive. Regardless of the price to buy the car the parts often stay expensive. Hence why old German cars become rare. Especially as they're becoming more and more complex.
