Alternator failure related to mild hybrid system?
Danygeorge replied to PocketsAintEmptyCuh's topic in Audi A7 Club
Ok. Thats great then. I just take a look on some paperwork because I’m like the second driver, I’ve got the car from a dealership (not Audi) about 4 months ago,and there’s lots of paperwork done at Audi by the first driver but nothing about this alternator but I’ve found an offboard diagnostic information system with lots of electrical faults, couple of papers actually ( I think there are all electrics faults of the car) first fault is like battery 48v(a6,c31)- charging fault all of the papers with those electrical faults are from the 3 dec 2024. Now I’m wondering if the dealership bought the car with this alternator issue and they replaced, because if they done that and they didn’t use an genuine Audi/w part I don’t think Audi will replace an aftermarket at no cost but I think the dealership will need to pay for it anyway if not they can get the car back. I’ll find out on Friday when I’m taking the car to Audi. -

Hello Sam, I bought a set of bespoke carpet mats for our non-Audi quite a a few years back from Carmats4U ( still operating I believe). You could specify the quality - I think I chose a quality near the top, and they didn’t disappoint. In fact they were transplanted into a newer non-Audi and are still good. As well as choosing the quality, you could also choose the edge binding, and the stitching colour. Please let us know how you get on Sam. Regards, Gareth.

Hi 10amp is about as high as you need to go, from memory I have nearly always used the fusebox under the cover on the left end of the dash, check the owners handbook for what fuse does what as you dont want to use an ABS/wipers fuse or anything that if it blows will leave you in poo creek, depending what the spec is of your model there may well be a spare fuse port in the box, thats what I did with my A6, the spare port was in the purple square, test for ignition live with meter. Steve.

Hi I have a similar problem but not from the front. A juddering from underneath/rear the car when going from a standstill with full lock in and accelerating briskly. Mine only happens when warmed up. There is a TPi or TSB whatever it's called for Quattro Ultra.. So far they've done a software update and a clutch adaptation (twice) but it isn't fixed. It goes in next week for a clutch pack replacement on the rear transmission. My car is fortunately still under Manufacturer's warranty.

If it's a constant multiple clicking noise on turning and pulling away it will be a cv joint If you slowly accelerate from 50 to 60mph does your steering have slight wobble??

Looking for best Audi A4 cabriolet auto
marpete replied to Richardracer's topic in Audi Cars for Sale and Wanted
Hi i know this is not exactly what you want but my want to consider it .its a 3.0L v6 with 10700 mails manual need some work to the front wings common problem on these car the roof work fine but needs replacing it has audi upgrade alloys which are very rare with full service and drive like a dream only saying this as the car is been part exchanged next Saturday would be open to an off around the £1k -
That’s pretty niche. ABT’s website is clunky and basically a dealer portal. Your best bet is probably searching via UK dealer/importer, as the part you need will be bundled in a full kit and will have a unique ABT part number. Try https://www.specialistvehicles.co.uk/abt/ They have contact number and email and seem to feature Audi as main brand. They are based in Plymouth.

Could it be an issue with a seizing brake caliper or issue with a driveshaft?

Glad you got sorted 🙂

Strange question to ask, but I got a strange answer at the dealer. Do these models have a sump dipstick for oil level and do they have a sump drain plug for when you change your oil? I asked the question about the drain plug, and the answer that came back was, ' If you vacuum it out, you know how much to put back'. No you get the engine hot, put the car on ramps on a slope, release the sump plug and with the rush of oil it scours any sludge or metals out. leaving a relatively clean sump. Using a suction pump, you leave sludge , metal and residue in there. As far as how much you refill it with, it should be in the handbook in the glove box and you refil to a litre short then move it onto level ground, add the remaining, checking the dipstick. Then run the engine and check for leaks, then check the following day before starting when cold. Check weekly or monthly along with other levels and tyre pressures. Do you have to fit an Audi oil filter and pay their mark up? Can you use Castrol EDGE 0W-20 LL IV or Shell equivalent ? Not some badged up marked up Audi oil, that they have made for them in some back street of Hamburg. What is the oil change /Service interval 12k as usual? Thank you in advance.
