  4. I am annoyed that I have to adapt things to make them fit, both electrically and mechanically. On the TPS that does not exist I have bought Bosch 0280122001 Throttle-Valve Switch, however to make it fit I have to fabricate a metal plate that rotates the new part about 20 degrees, then add standoffs to provide the correct vertical offset as it is not as deep into the bracket, perhaps do a jumper loom to switch wiring over, I have not checked that yet. I thought that I would do an exercise and buy a car, not Audi, more popular car based on a focus... a volvo from a cat scrap site but when I looked into it, 6 year old, guess what, same issue.... no parts. When the nasty stuff really starts to hit the fan, not many of us will have transport. Better off with something pre electronic era, mk2-1 golf with manual choke, they do not have many things that electrical items bring to us, but equally not there to go wrong, keep it simple. In the Audi 80 where is the sense of lean production engineering, when you have a support bracket between the gearbox and bottom of the engine, they have used 9 bolts and different socket heads on the bolts so you need 2 spanners to put the thing on along with a torx head. However it gets worse, as you cannot get a socket onto them when they are on the car, you actually need a deep offset ring spanner, a shallow one, an open one and a couple of different sizes of each, and to add insult to injury you need to drop the subframe to get 3 of the bolts out. People diss old landrovers but you can get a long way just with 1 spanner. I guess that inefficiency assembly gave the Japanese the chance they needed.
  5. OOOO Redcar NICE CLOSE TO MEEE DID I BUY MK1 GOLF OFF YOU YEARS AGO ? KEV
  6. Hi everyone, I know they are hard to come by so don't burn me 😬 but I'm looking for the above in a black edition if anyone is thinking of selling please feel free to contact me! Looking at a 19/20 plate budget wise! Thanks
  7. Hi Steve, I personally would not go anywhere near that one it looks like cheap trouble until you get the bill for the rebuild, go for a later engine thats got some history and runs, not some vague statement that it did and then spent an indeterminate time in storage, no milage, I think he wants to go to the pub on someones £80, I have made the same mistake in the past especially when driven by desperation, take your time send your cash wisely and make sure what goes in at least works. Steve
  8. Think you'll need to put it in service mode to do it properly
  9. Hi, This is my first post on here but I was hoping someone could help me with a couple of issues. 1. I was driving long distance and about 90 mins in I received a red error saying "Drive System: system fault! Safely stop vehicle". I managed to pull over at a garage where a mechanic kindly plugged in a diagnostic but it showed no issues. I am still getting the error system every time I turn on the car though. And it drives as normal. No issues at all. It was spilling rain so I do wonder if a sensor got damp somehow. But I can't figure it out. 2. A long standing issue, the MMI randomly pops up and down every 2nd or 3rd time I start the car. Sometimes the radio won't engage when this happens. About the rest of the time, it works perfectly. 3. Final issue I'm having, the rear wiper fluid no longer pumps out water. I wonder if it's a blockage or just a faulty pump. Anyway, the first issue is the main one. Has anyone experienced this before and it is a simple reset fix? Thanks.

  12. That’s a lot of money to remove a cylinder head. Any reason why you can’t complete your profile Siman?
  13. Would certainly expect them to have access to that information - as probably would the Parts Dept. of your local dealership - as said. I would be visiting the latter, rather than ringing, and be armed with your V5. Perhaps you could let us know how you get on. Kind regards, Gareth.
  14. I have the same problem. I switched off the charge schedules on the MMI and was then able to start a bump charge. All sorted I thought and got IO to schedule a charge overnight. Checked this morning and no charge. Worse, the Audi seems to have randomly set a new charging schedule without my knowledge that seems to block IO. How can I prevent this?
  15. Hey new here and need solutions asap if at all possible. Long story short, car got repossessed and while in that process the recovery company somehow broke the outside driver door handle to where it no longer had tension while opening the door. I watched a few videos and found out how to remove the inner panel. Once the panel was off I realized I couldn’t access that outer handle area and was pressed for time. I then reinstalled the panel and shut the door. Now the panel is back on and I am now unable to open the door from inside nor outside. How to do I -A remove the panel again with the door shut to try and fix again or B-get the door open to start the process over? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  17. I'd recommend seeing if it needs a software update and speak to Audi.
  18. Speaking from someone owning a similar aged A6 it's electrical gremlins and issues with imobilisers. My engine has gone bang, and trying to get the car back on the road is proving a nightmare. Engines and engine parts are getting in short supply etc.
  19. Nope they won't be compatible due to widths of the car.
  20. Hi I would get it scanned for fault codes, it may be an immobiliser problem. Steve.
  21. Hi sorry to hear of your woes, I would definitely look at OBD eleven it will give you better scope to at least identify your problems and as code readers go its cheap. Steve.
  22. Autodoc website can give you all alternative exact match batteries based on the OEM code of your current one. Apparently OEM code guarantees exactly same specification. Here is an example for OEM MOLL battery 6RO 915 105 B in my A3 where I have exactly the same problem of just needing the 'coding' to be done if I self-fit. I've been quoted £409 by local Audi for supply, fit & code where I can get the battery for £140 or less!! https://www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/oem/6r0915105b
  23. Please do let me know how you get on.
  24. I aint seen the sensor on an A3 yet as I only got mine at the weekend. it should be somewhere between your intake and the air filter box - on my fiesta I took the part out and cleaned it. plenty videos on youtube tho on how to check your MAF sensor to rule it out.
  25. I have a b7 2.0 tdi s line and I'm wanting to do some preventative maintenance. I've seen a lot about the cam followers giving out on 2.0 turbos but I can't find if this is just the tfsi or the tdi also. I ahd the same thing with the diverter valve, ordering a new one just to find that was only the petrol version 😅
  26. Hi Steve Still haven't forgotten about keeping you informed but my friend still hasn't gotten back to me yet but we have both decided that a new throttle body is the step forward As before i will keep you informed Dale
