  3. Shaun Collins at Bath Audi is well aware of my RS6 generator issue and if you have problems ask for him and use my name.
  4. Hi I've a 2010 audi a3 8p 2.0 tdi I'm struggling to find the location of egr also instructions how to take out and clean wen put back on does it affect codes or the computer etc too many thanks stu
  5. Today
  6. That’s I was asking because I know some of Audi dealers like(Bristol probably) will try to find any reason not to replace that alternator, even there’s no connection between the alternator and the adblue.. Thanks for the reply, I’ll let you know what they say about it.
  7. I would just play the innocent if and when challenged. My A8 Ad Blue tank lasted 18 months before filling and you only get a warning when low - i would plead ignorance if asked. Audi do void claims for 'unrelated' but warranty-excluding issues.
  8. Bath Audi are familiar with this problem so you should be ok. Cannot see any connection between Adblue and alternator.
  9. Hi. I’ve got the same issues with my a6 c8 alternator 2 days ago, car stopped on the motorway with all the lights coming up on dash board. I’ve booked my a6 to Audi bath for next week , now my question is if someone had the adblue off when they went to Audi for an alternator replacement and they still replaced under recall. Thanks
  10. Hi i know this is not exactly what you want but my want to consider it .its a 3.0L v6 with 10700 mails manual need some work to the front wings common problem on these car the roof work fine but needs replacing it has audi upgrade alloys which are very rare with full service and drive like a dream only saying this as the car is been part exchanged next Saturday would be open to an off around the £1k
  11. That’s pretty niche. ABT’s website is clunky and basically a dealer portal. Your best bet is probably searching via UK dealer/importer, as the part you need will be bundled in a full kit and will have a unique ABT part number. Try https://www.specialistvehicles.co.uk/abt/ They have contact number and email and seem to feature Audi as main brand. They are based in Plymouth.
  12. This car looks stunning. Is it worth you trying a broker like performance direct?

  14. Hi Magnet, I've recently had a complete engine rebuild at considerable cost. All the big ticket items have been replaced etc. Unfortunately the engine seized last year which required a complete rebuild starting with crankshaft, pistons, rods, block resleeving, etc all major components have been replaced and all plastic pipes etc, water pump, aux pump, thermostat, super charger bricks, complete set of new injectors, front seats reconditioned last year, its had in excess of 15k worth of work, so guess its because of my investment im seeking a higher agreed value. It's also a very well spec'd car with just under 10k worth of manufacturer optional extras including the desirable rear sports diff, MRC Stage 2+ and custom exhaust system. The car usually only covers around 2-3k miles per annum under my ownership. This will be my forever car...it maybe getting on a little now but imo its got that build quality that Audis were known for before we ended up with big chunks of plastic everywhere.
  15. Hi Dan, I have an agreed value policy in place now. Will update photos etc once i pick my car back from the garage.
  16. That's a catch 22, I'd say a keeper but I sead that about the s5 hahaha, think once iv done all I need to her I will keep her and possibly ger a stag engine and box and rebuild that and put that in I'm not sure at the moment, also thinking of another audi but q7 4.2 but it's time to work on them as work nights so sat basically rest day and Sunday is catch up day
  17. Could it be an issue with a seizing brake caliper or issue with a driveshaft?
  18. Great stuff 👍 🙂
  19. Ed, Very nice, I had a red 1500 S Reg Spitfire in my late 20's. After a A35 van as my first set of wheels I went for Triumphs after that, they had a bit of class and you could get right into the engine by just upping the bonnet( swivelled forward from the bumper) and sitting on a wheel. 1200, 1360 then the Spitfire and finishing with the 1980 TR7 with the Dolomite Engine and SD1 Gearbox, but a little light on the rear end unless loaded. The first ones had the Herald gearbox which wasn't quite man enough and only 4 speed, but this was 5 spd. Then I got married and moved to the US, spoilt the fun I could had, but was getting long in the tooth so better late than never. The 3.5 is the old aluminium Buick engine that the Yanks couldn't do much with, but Rover gave it a few mods, decent SU or Stromberg carbs and she was a good workhorse. Tuners even put it in the TR8, 300 hp I think they tweaked it to. I think some even went in MGB GT's, with a shoe horn. Is this going to be a runner or restore and sell?
  20. just seen the curved spanner for the Haldex oil filter on ebay for £13,how good is that. Saves me fabricating one .
  21. Thanks Gareth Decided first job is to get the cracked windscreen replaced ( booked for next week ) and then get the Haldex oil/filter changed. I feel I will then have a roadworthy car. The curved spanner needed to get the Haldex oil filter out will prove a challenge for me or my local indie. I can then work my way through the service items at my leisure .According to the service record it had a full service last October but only time will tell if it really was a 'full' service. Been getting to grips with the heating/AC this afternoon to stop the the windows misting up after a thunderstorm. What a complicated set up,did they make it complicated on purpose ?! I like nice simple set ups :one dial for cold/hot and one dial for the blower speed and an on/off switch for the AC.Yes I am old school or perhaps just 'old'. The more I drive the TT the more I realise how well built these cars were, just don't understand all the flack these mk1's got from the so called expert motoring press. Viva con dios or should that be 'viva con VW/Audi ' Jeff
  22. Hi mate this has the rover 3.5 lump in engine sounds lovely to be fair and the body work very good it has a little rust witch is forgiven for her age, it's needs refreshing inside, handbrake sorting, band brakes sorting,

  24. Thank you for your response, that as been checked
  25. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  26. Strange question to ask, but I got a strange answer at the dealer. Do these models have a sump dipstick for oil level and do they have a sump drain plug for when you change your oil? I asked the question about the drain plug, and the answer that came back was, ' If you vacuum it out, you know how much to put back'. No you get the engine hot, put the car on ramps on a slope, release the sump plug and with the rush of oil it scours any sludge or metals out. leaving a relatively clean sump. Using a suction pump, you leave sludge , metal and residue in there. As far as how much you refill it with, it should be in the handbook in the glove box and you refil to a litre short then move it onto level ground, add the remaining, checking the dipstick. Then run the engine and check for leaks, then check the following day before starting when cold. Check weekly or monthly along with other levels and tyre pressures. Do you have to fit an Audi oil filter and pay their mark up? Can you use Castrol EDGE 0W-20 LL IV or Shell equivalent ? Not some badged up marked up Audi oil, that they have made for them in some back street of Hamburg. What is the oil change /Service interval 12k as usual? Thank you in advance.
  27. I guess it's a case of keep searching eBay to be honest
