It was Paul's suggestion so can't take the credit for it unfortunately

Yep, I did see that on our conversation :) you beat me to it as I had intended to do it lol :)

Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. I do hope members get involved :)

what about a vag com section where members can ask other members for help and maybe members who have vag com could offer to scan a members car for faults if local to them?

I would really like to see a section where we can write up on your past Audi. Imma dying to share my experience of past motors.

Good idea :) would the thread be about your Past Audi or past cars in general?

Cheers

Steve

Well it's an Audi forum but I guess any experiences on cars would help

Exactly, I'm thinking any previous car sagas. As some people may not have had Audi's before.

Perhaps 2 different sections could be made. Sorry for delay I'm washing the car 😃

Not a problem! I need to wash mine to be honest!

That's not a bad idea :) I'm thinking of calling the threads:

1. Members Audi car sagas

2. Members non Audi car sagas

What do you think?

Just watched a vid on here of a A6 headlight removal. Got me thinking. Would it be a pain if I wanted to watch that again how would I find it? So maybe an area where useful videos could be stored/posted. Yes the video might be posted in the chat it was meant for and in the general new area for easy reference. What you think? This area could also be used for interest links too. Say you found some guy doing great work, just post a link in this place so we all can check it out.

Been thinking after reading a few posts and browsing AutoTrader.

I would like to hear people's views on servicing. In 2003 the EU rules on block exemptions allowed non franchise garages to service cars keeping warranties active providing original manufactures parts are used. To myself this has not had much of an effect as I've always used Audi garages for services because I've been lucky enough to have newish Audi cars over the past 15 years. I still feel that people look for full Audi service history (fash) when buying a an older car, one that's out of manufacturers warranty. Audis are a premium brand so if a new owner is skimping on upkeep you wonder why.

So is my take the correct one? When is it acceptable to use non dealer services? Should the non dealer garages be Audi specialist? Should you be worried about self servicing?

I think we could do a write up on this after getting opinions together. Say an overview

Hey Adam, it is true that people do look for full Audi service history and I can see how this is desirable. However from my personal experience having a car service at a private garage does not always mean that servicing has been skimped on. My a6 has been serviced at a local garage ever since it came out of warranty and has had no expense spared and is now on 328k miles on the original engine and gearbox.

Cheers :)

Hi Piotr   It seems the software update for the Forum site (https) and also the new front end for the club has meant the link is now in the side bar. I have mentioned it to the developer who will look at it sometime.

This is another good idea Adam :) What I have started to do is pin/feature a video, link or article which may prove useful to members. I have been puttin them in the relevent secions such at Q7, a6 c7, wheels and tyres etc. If you come across any useful ones then feel free to do the same :)

Cheers

Steve
