Hi all. I’ve finally upgraded from a c6 to an estate s line black edition 2014 2.0 tdi. Absolutely fantastic however I brought the car with a slight hit at the front. Replaced the main parts but having difficulties with the passenger headlight. I’ve brought a whole new unit but it won’t tirn on. I’ve connected it to the right hand side and worked fine, connected it back to the left and nothing. No indicator, no drl not xenon. No life at all!! My mechanic who has a vag can’t work out what’s wrong. Only thing I’ve noticed is that I replaced the ballast that’s underneath the headlight and one letter is different. The part no was 8KO.941.597 E and I replaced it with the 8KO.941.597 C

Could that one letter be the difference? Can anyone help please as that’s all that’s needed to get this beast on the road !

Thanks

I would say that with the indicator and DRL not working (no need for ballast on those) that it would be a more fundamental electrical issue such as a ground wire in and around the area of the headlamp. Have you tried metering out the connector voltages to chassis when DRL and indicator are flashing? Any battery volts to the ballast supply?

Thanks. Mechanic checked that - spoke to another vag specialist who managed to sort it. Apperantly the ballast had to be programmed. Charged me £40 and now all fully working. Thanks for your help!

I have exactly the same problem with mine but tried it also with the ballast from the working drivers side light. Who did you use to sort yours in the end? Cheers
