Hi guys . New here . Tbh I came here searching for Ans to my problem, but will be staying on after. So I just replaced my headlights ....old ones were tired and cracked but worked fine. New lights ballasts and bulbs . Got the lights in and all working, no errors in dash or fault codes. They steer as they should and all okay...apart from no main beam either side ..nothing..not on flasher either. Double checked all connections etc all good ....and with no fault codes or errors I’m scratching my head as to why they not coming on ....and why the car not realising they not coming on either. Few hours on vag com in settings...can find anything regarding main beam activation or coding ...will be going back to my m8s garage next week to try and resolve but hoping someone had issue and solved it here before 🤗

You have listed your car as 2011 s line so I’m guessing you have swapped LED headlights with LED headlights (led eye brows). There are actually 2 types of LED headlightS - bi xenon and tri xenon, tri xenon have self level adaptation built into them bi xenon don’t. All s lines I believe are tri xenon with the se models being bi xenon. If you have put bi xenon in then you might be getting this weird fault as a result. If you upgrade pre 2009 Q7’s to led headlights you get similar faults until you recode the car.  You should be able to sort using vag com but check the originals against the new ones. They should say if they are bi or tri on them. Hope this helps!

Hi...yes my q7 is a 2011 s-line . Lights are correct genuine items from audi for the car , and yes are tri xenon not bi as I said . Lights are fully operational apart from the individual main beam light ...on vag com the lights have “learned” and steer etc . All new genuine ballasts and bulbs . Seems like they need switching on or the ballasts coding but I can’t find any setting for such on vag com .
