A5 Parking Sensor Going MAD. Help?

Hey Guys,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I have an issue with my front parking sensors on my 09 Audi A5 and was wondering if any of you could help.

When stationary three of the front parking sensors seem to be showing random distances when the car is stationary and not near any objects. You can see a short video of this on the below link.

My question is have any of you any idea what the solution would be?

- I have checked all parking sensors and all are clicking when I touch them so they all seem to be working fine.

- I recently installed a new fount parking sensor wiring line but unfortunately the problem still persists. I understand that a second wiring line is used that connects the main front wiring line to the control box so perhaps this could be an issue.

- When a diagnosis scan was run by an independent garage it showed with no errors on the fount and just one intermittent parking error for one of the rear sensors.

Anyway I don't want to pay Audi £199 to diagnose the fault if someone on the forum can advise what the cause/solution would most likely be.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Rich

Sorry for the late reply.....not all members will go into the A5 section of the forum and if they haven't experienced the issue then there will not be usually be any responses.
I have done a search through the forums for any similar faults and coming up with nothing unfortunately.

I think it would be worth buying a VCDS kit and scan it yourself to save on huge diagnostic costs.
