Audi A3 8L for sale £650

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Am reluctantly ready to sell my 1999 A3 8L AGU 1.8 Turbo. It has been a terrific car and I will be sorry to see it go, but needs must.

MOT to December, 176000 miles, no known major faults. £650.

Four good tyres, good brakes, suspension less than two years old, oil changed regularly, engine pulls and pulls, belts done less than 12000 miles ago. Frankly awesome condition for a car of this age / mileage. Under my ownership, this car has always been given whatever it needs.

Recent work includes: new battery, new breather hoses, passenger side bowden cable, cam cover gasket, two new tyres. MOT advisories fixed (minor oil leak from cam cover, minor exhaust leak, two tyres).

Before that there are receipts for: shocks and springs all round, top mounts, suspension arms, brakes, rear calipers, multiple oil changes and other minor stuff.

The original cassette player has been replaced with a Sony cd player.

No fault codes or warning lights.

Remote central locking key and spare. Obviously I have all relevant paperwork such as V5.

The bad bits are minor and cosmetic: as you can see in the pics, bodywork is generally good condition with nothing you wouldn't expect after 21 years, but there are a few minor supermarket car park type scratches and imperfections. If you're the kind of person they would bother, you probably have the skills to fix them, but I've never felt the need: they really are not a problem to me.

That's it, really. You're welcome to ask any questions or just come and have a look in Chobham, Surrey.

Am new around here and hate to start with a For Sale post but I'd really like her to go to an enthusiast! :)

Thanks for the welcome, Steve!

It is in excellent condition! For this kind of money you'd be hard pressed to find something both this interesting and well-maintained!

For sale because I have sort of accidentally ended up with a new (well, new to me!) car. This beauty broke down for the first time in more than two years (clutch master cylinder, no big deal but local specialist couldn't fit it in for days) and I needed wheels, so bought another car leaving this one surplus to requirements!

She has made us very happy, absolutely loves long trips as well as pootling about and will be sadly missed. But I've got to pay for the new one somehow! 🙂

That is true. What have you replaced it with?

I don't want to say, because you might think less of me as a person. 😉

It was made two countries and a few hundred miles south of Ingolstadt, and broke down on the way home from buying it 😂 🤣😂🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

I have been (very) tempted to sell it and keep this A3, but it cost quite a lot to mend, and I'd never see that money again. Sad, really 😢
