Sy T Posted October 15, 2021 Share Posted October 15, 2021 Hi, I'm reluctantly selling my 1998 A4 B5 2.8 quattro manual saloon, it's in a fairly rare Byzantine (Byzanz) mettalic purple with a full leather ecru interior. It has only covered 66900 miles and is an unmodified original example that has always been well looked after. It has 2 former keepers (1st being the dealership I believe) and I have had the pleasure of owning it for the past 20 years. Still a real joy to drive, starts first time, the engine pulls strong and smoothly, the gearbox also feels very nice, and it rides and stops great. The current tax and mot is untill Feb 2022, with no issues on the last test. The bodywork looks good, especially for the age but does have some minor car park marks. There is a small patch of rust on the windscreen pillar and one on the drivers side front arch next to a small dent. The wheels are okay but could do with refinishing as there is some bubbling and scuffs. The sunroof seal needs to be replaced and there is some sagging of the headliner in the rear. The front seats do have some age related wear, but the rear looks practically untouched. It really is a great car to drive and own; that could very happily be run as is, or with a little attention could be made immaculate. There are not many of these around especially in this colour and with this mileage, and I will be very sad to see it go. I'm looking to get £2200.
