Mmi functions missing!😡

A mate had something like that a few years ago on his. It got water in the boot from a fault on his sunroof and blew an amp or something 🤔 it might of been the sat nav. I can’t really remember but everything is daisy chained using optics and that’s why so many things went off on his. He’s moved to Australia now so can’t ask him really but I’m fairly sure that’s what Audi told him as they fixed it under warranty. They didn’t have it long either so I don’t think it was a big job. I’d check for water first then all the fuses. There’s some on the ends of the dashboard and also one in the rear luggage compartment. Ideally you could do with sticking it on vcds to try and narrow it down but without access to it I’d try the fuses etc before finding a garage.

Based on Big Dave's response and your previous issue regarding water in the boot (and based on your recent posts water on the brain 😂) it sounds like the mmi unit in the boot would be a good place to start 👍

The leaks been fixed,Mmi has been fixed so I know that’s ok it’s just certain functions are missing off the screen I.e Bluetooth ,tpms, rear camera and adaptive suspension

When you say “mm I’d been fixed” what do you mean? Has a garage replaced something? If so all the components are coded to the car so if the coding is incorrect the car won’t recognise the modules and not function. It’s supposed to be so that stolen parts can’t used. For example if you replace the mmi screen in the dash for a 2nd hand one then it will lock the control head and stop the voice control and telephone working. Unfortunately if that is the case then as far as I’m aware only Audi can recode it as it has to plug into their computer and talk back to Germany.

Dave is right - the mmi units carty component protection so you need to "adapt" any new units to your vehicle.

If it's stolen then it won't work.

I had an issue on my VW sat nav a few years ago and got the protection sorted by a company in Bradford - https://m.facebook.com/cartechuk/ - they also have a website but my browser blocked it. The guy was really quick and hooked into the VW/Audi system.

I think Hazzydayz in St Albans also offers this service - https://www.hazzydayz.com/

Sorry Dave I didn’t even ask answer your original question!!

When I bought the car the MMI screen would come on and go off again. Straight away this was because the rear wiper pipe had come apart and put water on the boot which in turn blew The amp I fixed the leak that’s all dried out then the dealer has sent me to an audio specialist they spent about four hours on the car and they replaced I believe some components in it. Satnav works RadioWorks heating system works on  the mmi screen just features missing so I think it’s about coding tbh !!
