Recently got myself an A3.

All good.

But get a strange noise when accelerating at 60mph.....

Nothing at all up until then but as soon as you accelerate past 60mph it sounds like driving over small cats eyes, as soon as you back off the accererator no noise at all. Back on and there it is... Needed 2 front tyres and still there. No blips when accelerating and pulls ok....

Anyone any ideas????

Then how about giving us some clues as to what you have investigated in the two months since posing your question. Presumably you have looked into tyre condition, tyre balance, steering joints, suspension joints, wheel bearings, rack mountings etc. Let us know what you have found to give us some useful information to work on.

new tyres fitted on front and balanced. all 4 wheels alligned. driveshafts and bearings checked and all good. local mechanic reckons it may be an airleak but not noticable
