mt1982sheff Posted May 23 Posted May 23 Hi, Have recently noticed a rotational noise when driving - wheel have been balanced and tyres were checked during balancing and all good. Has anyone any idea what this might be, have attached a video, noise can be heard slightly in the background..... Definitely seems to be in line with wheel rotation / speed and volume varies from hardly noticeable to quite loud. Any advice / input gratefully received! 20250509_173656_1.mp4
spartacus 68 Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) No video upload. Your best bet is to upload to YouTube and link from there. Rotational sounds could be anything, stone stuck between brake shield and rotor, sticky brake piston, wheel bearing (tends to give dull drones at 40-50mph). Also flat spots on tyres. mt1982sheff Posted May 24 Author Posted May 24 I'll try and upload to YouTube at some point but can't figure out how on my phone! Hard to describe it - it's like a whipping or clicking noise at all speeds, more noticeable at slower speeds. Doesn't create a droning noise at 40-50 so maybe not bearings. Have tried uploading here again as well. Thanks! 20250509_173656_1.mp4
cliffcoggin Posted May 24 Posted May 24 I can just about hear the noise in the last three seconds of the audio, but it is so overwhelmed by engine noise that I have no chance of identifying it.
