  1. The only other thing to consider is choice - 19's are not as prevalent as 18's so the tyre choice may be more limited (and expensive). I had 19's on a 61 Touareg and they were fine but on a car as has been said, they might compromise the ride.
  2. That's a shame - it sounds like you need to get the door "connected" back to the ecu / entry system. The mechanical bits need the electronics!
  3. I posted this link on another thread - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/osWj4f-Mn7g - might be worth a try? also this one is slightly different to your method https://youtu.be/QkIdVobV_UI?si=z0dO4wwsFD8_HBsQ - again worth a try.
  4. Season's greetings and all the best to you and yours! 🎄
  5. The myaudi app will also give you the configuration - you can also go to their website - https://my.audi.com/ - in both, once you register your vehicle you can get details of the equipment and service history. You might also have access to Audi connect for a trial period and at least one option to upload the latest maps. It sounds (no pun intended) like you have the Bose subwoofer? Mine takes up th ewhole spare wheel area but I have seen a Q7 where the sub woofer fits inside the space saver wheel. As for keyless entry - I think that they have the mechanical options all attached to the door but mine also has the little rectangles that suggest keyless but they aren't connected ot anything 😞
  6. I think that it's part of EU regulations that every new vehicle has to have a speed limiter - just another attack on our freedom 😠
  7. Have you tried this reset option? You'll need your 5 year old to try it https://youtube.com/shorts/osWj4f-Mn7g?si=v-EY7cUPTYl6L5Gd
  8. You should have something like this in your glove box You may have to pull a plastic lever to release it from the top of the glovebox? As for the costs of the internal SIM - it's not chealp and is managed by a German company I think. If you download the myAudi app you can set your car up on audi connect for around £14/£15 per month. IMHO it's cheaper to plug your phone in and use the data from that.
  9. When I had a Touareg there was a trick to reset your automatic gearbox - it doesn't cost anything so might be worth trying. Basically you put your foot flat on the accelarator, ignition (not engine) on and hold pedal down for 15 - 20 seconds. Then foof off and start it up. If your battery has been flat it might have caused various errors - this might help reset the ECU/ECM - as an aside, if it's th original battery, then even if you fully charge it, it may already be a goner especially with all of the cold weather.
  10. Yours is a C8 4K. If you have the My Audi App you can find out your configutration and extras there
  11. You can change it yourself - you can google to find out how to - I suspect your key fob has the "key" hidden inside, in which case you pinch the tabs at the silver end to pull the key element out and then pinch the black lugs to pull out the battery holder - CR2032 should be the battery type (buy a pack for future emergencies and keep it in your glove box)
  12. If you want to get the boot open then there should be access from the rear side (in the boot) of the door GoogleaIs "audi a3 emergency boot release" for lots of indications and the release method. If you want to fix it then it's probably a solenoid so again Google something like "audi a3 boot latch fault" that should give you several videos on how to strip the door and investigate the problem.
  13. My 2018 Q5 has a jack included - you'd need it in order to lift the tyre to squirt in the gunge. Good tip from Gareth on the locking wheel nut - it isn't very obvious in the boot - it should be at the back just past where the jack should be! 🙂
  14. My Q5 S Tronic DSG just hit 40K miles and there is an ATF change recommended + filter - the garage could only get 3.5l in even though it recommends 4l- no other work required. It's expensive stuff - @ £25+ per litre
  15. Have you looked on your V5? Otherwise, checking a website such as https://www.rapidcarcheck.co.uk/free-car-specs-by-entering-registration/ or https://cartaxcheck.co.uk/ will be the same database that the insurance companies use. Failing that if you look here - https://www.autoevolution.com/audi/a3/ - this gives you an idea on the engines available 2.0 TDI is 170hp and there is nothing standard showing as 130hp
  16. Hi Disgracefully Old - many of the OBD Eleven settings are just comfort / convenience based. Some of them such as lane assist / departure warning or that controls the brake, accelerator or steering might be more of a warranty issue. Stop/Start is more of a fudge in order to improve fuel efficiency (and save the planet!?!) It's not an MOT item (I don't think) and worst case your local dealer might reset it and you have to redo it again. OBD Eleven is the (relatively) idiot proof version of VCDS / Ross Tech with the former you can mainly only change preset coding whereas with the latter, you can change pretty much anything and in the wrong hands that could leave you with serious damage to some of the car's features. HTH
  17. Hi Gareth - yes, there is a button to disable it but every time you turn off th eignition it resets to "on". The OP would like to have it permanently disabled and I think that it can only be achieved with OBD Eleven or VCDS / Ross Tech
  18. Hi Gareth - I honestly don't know. I've never tried to permanently disable the function and that might be a good reason not to 😁 On my Q5 I am happy to keep stop/start along with auto hand brake - I have become used to it.
  19. Have a look at OBD eleven. https://obdeleven.com/ You will need a dongle and a few credits (100 I think) but it can disable the start/stop permanently. You cannot permanently disable it any other way.
  20. You should at least have the basic maps especially if they are showing on the other screen. Google Earth along with weather, news, petrol prices, etc is part of the audi connect package @ £14.50 per month. It might be worth checking which type of map / view you have set up for VC - Idoubt that it is stuck in satellite as opposed to standard and traffic but worth a look. Otherwise you might have a problem - do the other screens display OK on the VC?
  21. Hi Joe I'm using a galaxy s10e I'm believe that the AA Wireless unit operates over WiFi. When connected the AA Wireless appears through the smartphone connection area on the menu. Also I'm pretty certain that Android Auto is specifically designed to take control of your phone in the car and probably bypassing your mmi unit. You can buy the unit from here https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/aawireless It's crowd funding so delivery may be months not days. You can also read all the comments and support items to see if it's for you.
  22. I have an AA Wireless which I use on my Q5 It works very well although sometimes the connection of my watch, the audi mmi and the AA Wireless leads to minor problems. So you can still have your phone through mmi. The big improvement is that recently with Waze I can now have a route on AA and my virtual cockpit still works and can have an alternative route. Initially the virtual cockpit map was disabled. I'd say that there are 2 main issues 1. The audi wireless charger is abysmal 2. Android Auto functionality is OK but Google keep messing it up. However, AA Wireless is an excellent product 👍
  23. When your parking sensors are active, they will reduce radio volume. I'm sure you can adjust that in the settings menu. You might want to check the settings for your startup issue too.
  24. I'm bit late I think on this but agree with the general sentiment. A couple of observations: Batteries lose their efficiency - the 2nd and 3rd hand market is dead for EVs If it costs you £10 and 90 minutes to get recharged then even at £20 an hour for your time that's £30 more plus £10 for anything from a service station. EVs and especially E-Trons are popular middle management company cars - no taxes through PAYE, road tax, fuel tax - no government revenue - that is unsustainable. Everybody charging vehicles from energy supplied solely by the sun and the wind - unsustainable (in the real world) Much like climate scientology I can make those statements and I don't have to prove them - it's all opinion / belief. Then we have the safety aspect Lion batteries are a fire hazard - so don't park your EV in your garage. Hydrogen is even worse. My money is on cars powered by unicorn sh! t and fairy dust - at least that way we all live happily ever after!
  25. You still have to have an audi connect licence. Mine expired last month and my sim shows as being connected but all audi connect functions including Google maps are not enabled.
