Hi they will need recoding and adaptation but if you have Vagcom its doable just make sure you save the original long coding as that will get you out of the cr@p if it starts going sideways.
Steve
I have been looking at this video and there is no mention of recoding and adaptation.

Hi I think you will get exactly what you want with that finish, just stay clear of acid wheel cleaner as that will kill the paint in record time.
Steve.
My wheels never get dirty enough to have to use that stuff, thanks for the tip anyway.
I don't like pressure washers either.

Quite a few options on this video.

It don't work for me.

Hi TBH that is not a bad finish, I would not stick my nose up at that considering the age of the vehicle the stove blacking is obviously doing a sterling job of keeping the corrosion at bay, its got a sort of retro gothic look.
Steve.
I agree with you about looking OK, but I have to do it about four times a year to keep it looking like that or the rust comes back.
I'm hoping that new, rust free calipers painted will just require a wash when the wheels are done.

Good plan, I'm still surprised the previous owner didn't code the battery.
Years ago, In my usual way, I tried to remove the service due display with my vag-com and cocked it up, now neither I or Audi can remove it. To this day it says service due every time I switch on.
What ever I did also stopped me from coding my new battery.
That was over a year ago and I have had no issues with my new battery.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this. I have this error but I also have a huge battery drain and wonder if they’re connected
Not a very clear video, but hear you go.

Hi if there is nothing wrong with the old callipers I would of given them a good going over with some 120 grit oxide paper then a good clean with rubbing alcohol before painting, and yes just use the existing servo units. Nice job with the painting.
Steve.
I have been using stove blacking on them for years and it's a bugger to get rid of.
That's why I had new calipers for the front.
Here's a photo of my old front calipers with stove blacking on them.

Hi thats correct but you gave no clue as to whats wrong with the old ones so I was working on the assumption that one or both sides had some sort of failure electronically, if you don't have to replace the actuators all good but whatever you do put the rear brakes into service/pad change mode before fitting new units and above all do not unplug the drive motors or you will loose the existing coding, then you will have real problems.
Steve.
Nothing wrong with the calipers that are on there, I just want new calipers so that I can paint them. (the car has only done 42k)
So you are saying, OK to remove the new servos from the new calipers, paint the calipers then fit the old servos without unplugging them and screw them to the new calipers.
This is one of the new front calipers that I have painted.

Hi everyone, new member here looking for some advice in the vein of most potential buyers! I've also posted on some other Audi sites as I didn't know which one was best. 😂
I'm interested in buying a facelift A6 S-Line Special Edition Le Mans.
If I do get one I've decided on the 2.0L diesel manual saloon and preferably in the dark blue that was available at the time. I don't know the official colour, but there seems to be two similar ones. One looks like a deep navy blue and the other looks like a dark bluey/grey, unless it's the light in the photographs and it's actually the same colour?
My eye has fallen on this one: https://www.gscarsleicester.co.uk/used-cars/audi-a6-saloon-2-0-tdi-le-mans-4dr-leicester-202204074410166
Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions? I'm two and a half hours drive away from this one so I don't want to be wasting my time!
Also, how firm is the ride on the 19 inch alloys? The main reason for wanting to change my current car is the harsh ride.
Any info greatly recieved because I've never had an Audi before!
Thanks, Matthew.
Ask if the belt has been changed, the trans fluid should be changed every 38k.
I change the engine oil every 3k because I only do short journeys.

I am not very good at coding.
Just a thought, If I get new calipers and fit my actuators to them, then they won't need coding.
Am I correct ?

Had a fault appear on my 2007 A6 saloon.
Brake light warning on the dash (with that really annoying beep on start up!). However brake lights all fine - eve n had them off to check terminals etc.
How do I reset it to stop it bleeping/flashing the warning...? or does anyone know a solution?
My fog lights always give me a warning, one after the other.
If I turn them on the warning goes away.
I know what the cause is and I could fit resistors to cure it, but it don't bother me that much. It's because I fitted LED's.
You may have a power drop on the light that's causing it.
Try fitting a separate ground wire to that light.

Hi! Hopefully everyone has a good day.
So my Audi A6 Le Mans, 2.7 Diesel, 2007 started to make a weird sound today. It’s hard to explain the sound, maybe grinding? The sound comes on only when I accelerate aggressively and stops when I ether let the accelerator pedal off or I maintain a specific speed. The sound comes on with a slight vibration throughout a whole car. Sounds like the weird sound comes from passenger side, but hard to say if it’s under the hood or wheels.
Also- sometimes car works perfectly, sometimes the weird sound and vibration comes on, so it’s not consistent. Car works fine- no power loss or anything like that. I added to videos- I hope you can hear the sound.
P.s. I know for a fact that driver side bearing is worn out, because it’s already making sound so that needs to be changed. But can it make an extra sound+vibration only when accelerating?
Check you CV joints.

As per the title, anyone tell me where the module that does the front parking sensors is located please?
Tried talking to Audi and the conversation went along the lines of, bring it to us to repair, no we can't tell you where it's located.....
Is this any help ?

If you fit new EPB rear brake calipers, do you have to program them or are they plug and play ?
I have a vag com for opening and closing.

Sorry it's not helped. I've do e further research but can't find anything. This might be a case that'll have to speak to Audi.
Put a new ground wire from that head light.
A lot of problems can be traced back to poor grounds.

had the front bumper off today, unpluged everything and checked the connections, re pluged them in, cleared the fault code and it came back instantly, tried to test the circuit but it won't let you while it has a fault code..... might end up just having to live with it, audi want £110.00 to look at at to tell me whats wrong with it..... and thats without repairing it, i know what they will do, new harness..... new sensors...... new module..... and that'll be nearly £2000.
Make sure that the groove separating the center and the outer ring on the sensors is clean.
Every time that I wax my car I get a stiff tooth brush and brush the sensors.

How old is the battery? Failing batteries can cause all sorts of weird electrical issues.
My old battery looked brand new as well, but it was thirteen years old (original battery)
I was having trouble with doors not locking or unlocking, got a new battery and all is fine now. 😀

Managed to get the door mirror for £80. but I only wanted the cover and the indicator strip off it.
The rest was no good as it wasn't a folding one.

It was bin collection day and someone had put their bin overhanging the kurb,
My left side mirror smashed into the bin doing quite a lot of damage.
I priced the new parts up to repair it, Pheeew 😬
Glass, cover and indicator strip was going to cost £906 new.
It was £240 just for the glass.
I managed to get the parts off eBay (used) got the glass for £120 used.
I will be looking out for bins in future. 👀

My battery is on charge 24/7 as I only use the car once a week to go to Asda, haha.
New 110Ah battery 12 months ago.
I am surprised that no one on here has ever unplugged their parking brake (EPB)
What's UDS ?
