Hi All, I am new to the forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong section. Also new to Audi ownership, love the car but one of the first issues I had was finding a phone mount suitable for the car. Hi all, noob question but just noticed on my way to work this morning that my mirror indicator is not lighting up, im assuming these are an led as opposed to a bulb? where about's would i be able to get hold of a replacement part? and are these straight forward for me to replace? cheers guys, BP.

Hi, I have an audi a3 58 plate facelift. My rear right door does not open from the inside or the outside. I can hear the lock though. I need a rear door lock actuator but I need an 8-Pin one. The problem is I can't find an 8-pin one. Would a 7-Pin or 9-Pin work ?

Hi All, Wondering if anyone has purchased the Audi Music Interface, I want to play videos the monitor but tried on SD card and not had any luck in various formats. A few youtube videos have mentioned the Audi Music Interface cable. Has anyone tried? Or know anyone that's got the cable? Thanks Hass

Hi, Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong section, Was driving to work last night, glow plug warning light starts flashing, car goes into limp mode, stop at traffic light, switch engine off/on, light gone, ?odd smell from exhaust. Drove home this morning with no warning lights, no noticeable issue, not sure if I had a little less power in high revs or if I was imagining things. This something to worry about? Anyone had a similar issue with a known cause? Seen very mixed and unhelpful results online. Just a bit of info, for the last 2 months car has only been driven short 3 mile journeys, had no long runs for that duration, not sure if that would affect things Thanks for any help chaps.

Hi, I need some advice on purchasing an Audi from a pre-approved used Audi dealership. I have fallen for an Audi A3 Black edition sportback TDI 2012, however it lacks a few features that I wanted. I have been searching for about a month for a black edition that ticks all the boxes, the pre-approved one has come near. Features I want: Cruise Control Audi navigation plus with an extended lighting cable. The Audi sales rep said that the specification I wanted is quite rare, as black editions are rare in themselves. He said I could go to an Audi service centre and they may retrofit the features. After contacting Audi and being referred to my local Audi service manager, I have yet to hear back from them in over 2 weeks. I am aware Audi will charge me substantially more, but it gives me peace of mind. Has anyone had features retrofitted via an Audi service centre? Should I just keep searching? -
So my car has been of the road now for so long! Nearly a year. All because the transfer box has broke (literally got a hole in it, can’t be fixed) now from what I’ve learnt, they don’t make the transfer box anymore (discontinued). Now this is the second time this has happened, and I’m not sure why! So the first time it happened, I got sent a part, by a Audi specific breakers, they confirmed it was the right one... now I’m thinking, maybe it wasn’t!? And I’ve tried and tried to find out the correct part number for the transfer box that should be in my car, but no luck. Does anyone know? It’s a Audi A3 3.2 v6 8p 2004, someone must use be able to help! Thank you

Hi All, I recently bought a 2015 A3 T FSI SE Sportback (ex fleet or lease) from CarGiant. First car I've had with an electric parking brake and I'm not sure if it is working correctly, or I am just not used to it yet. As I understand it, the EPB shouldn't release until the is sufficient revs for the car to pull away. However I find that when the clutch is raised by the slightest amount, the EPB releases, cause my car to roll back on even my fairly shallow drive way. I know Audi advise holding the EPB on when pulling away on a steep hill but this is not what I would call a steep slope. Also a few days ago I tried to pull away without 1st gear being fully engaged, the EPB released when there could not have been sufficient power to the wheels. Any advice would be appreciated, it may be I am just not used to it, but would like to rule out any problems. Thanks.

Hello Recently I changed turbo, on my a3 PD170, as the old one was gone, and when i put it all together, oil feed line started to leak on this turbo. it is leaking from the connection with feed line and turbo. So i want to change this bolt which is connecting oil line and turbo with new one, but I cant find it anywhere on internet (ebay, dark side etc). Not sure, what is the correct name of this bolt, but i found out that it is Turbo oil feed restrictor banjo bolt. I found out that other turbos they using normal thread bolts, but on this PD170 it is bolt with revers thread. Please help me to find where to buy one of them or atleast what is SKU number or should i go to dealer and ask them for it? Thank you for help

Hi everyone, I'll keep this as short as I can. I need some advise with a problem I've got with my A3, a few months ago my timing chain tensioner fail which caused some pretty serious damage to my engine. Since then I've had it reconditioned. However after reinstalling the engine and running it, it looks (with almost certainty) that the valve variator needs replacing. Whats my question? How much would it cost to get that changed and if not, how difficult would it be to sell the car with this problem? Just as a side note, the car is a three door Black Edition with full leather interior and satnav its also (apart from the obvious issues above) in perfect condition inside and out.

Hello, I am just about to purchase an A3 S-line (2009 Audi A3 4dr HB AT DSG 2.0T Quattro Premium). It has 243,000km on the car and almost all of those are highway driving or small town driving. There is almost no rust on the car and the mechanic who usually maintains the car said it is in good shape. What are the problems that I could expect to have on this type of car? Are there things that are 100% guaranteed to break on the a3 2009 model? What is the usual cost of maintenance for these cars? Is this car easy to repair at home? I have owned a 1987 300td Mercedes wagon for the last 8 years so I can repair most issues with it and how no problem working around the car. But the audi is much newer and has a completely different electrical system. Thanks for your advice and help.

Any one knows why 400 A3s have been withdrawn from delivery at the port. My A3 was due to be delivered last month but I can not get any information from Audi UK or my dealer Harwoods as to the reason for the delay or what fault Audi have found?

Hello I’m wondering if anyone has any info on removing my boot on the A3? There are torque bolts one at each side on the top hinges. But there’s part of the bracket that is sitting on a threaded end? How do I remove this bolt as I cannot access the head of it. Any advice or guides would be appreciated

Hi All, I ran my car on a dyno yesterday and was presented with some pretty interesting results. I am pretty annoyed, but also curious as to what I can do about it (if anything). I have an Audi A3 (2010) 2.0 TDI - 170bhp, which I had remapped around 2 years ago with Viezu tuning. I also have a few other mods (Miltek, BMC filter etc) but they do very little in terms of performance gains. So long story short, I took my car for a service around 2 months ago to my local audi dealer and when i got the car back it felt pretty slow again, not awful, but not great. Took my car to the Dyno and low and behold, i am back to 170 (Stock) with a pretty awful looking Dyno run (Not very smooth at all). Now i am no expert so i wanted to make sure the Dyno results were correct and I also need to understand what I can do in regards to Audi giving me some money for writing over my map. Please note, everything i take it in, i tell them not to do a software update, so they have either done it without telling me or even worse they have applied the emissions fix to my car which I have opted out of on a number of occassions. Can someone confirm, would a software update overwrite the map? And what is the best way forward? The company i took my car to were pretty decent they offered me a new map and dyno for £350, apparently they write there own maps from scratch and also sell maps to other providers. I was quoted around 210-215bhp other maps are quoting me around 225. Thanks P.s Dyno results attached.

Just bought an Audi A3 1.6 se Technik with 75k miles. The car is 2010 and I can't see anything about a cam belt change in the service book. Does this model have a cam belt, as the service book only mentions TDI's. If it does, when should it be changed (miles/years). Thanks!

Hello all. I’m new to this site. I’ve just purchased an A3 2.0fsi 2005. 3dr I need a new boot as mines is damaged. I was wondering if anyone knows if I could use one off an A3 same model but a 5 door? Also if the rear bumper can also be used off the 5 door to replace my rear bumper on my 3 door? Any advice would be great thanks Andrew

Hey guys Thought i'd join up for a b it of info: I've currently got the sport model saloon, getting a bit bored of the styling and wanted to spice it up a little. first port of call is sticking the S line exterior on it. Anyone have any experience with this? lots of front and rear bumpers without the grille/ rear available so would it be an option to buy the s line bumpers and fit the sport grill and diffuser? every other car i've had this sort of stuff is possible. next port of call would be suspension and wheels, what experience do people have with coilovers? not planning on super low but still want coils over springs. and finally recommendations for wheels. budget for wheels and coils is around 1200. Not a lot but its not going to be a show car, i just can't stand the sport wheels anymore. Appreciate anyone's input on this

Hi all, I have an Audi A3, 2015, S-Line, 2.0 TDI, Diesel and I have recently heard a faint grinding or crunching noise coming from the engine area, like a 'Skrrr Skrrr' noise when the engine is stationary. I have taken it to Audi several times and they are unable to rectify the fault. I am concerned that it could lead to something major and cost me a pretty penny in the future. I have attached a video for the sound to be heard hopefully over the loud diesel engine. If anyone would be kind enough to identify the noise or fault, it would be highly appreciated. IMG_2649.MP4 -
Hi Guys, Needing some help/advice on a DAB issue on my 2013 A3 which has the satnav style MMI and a standard sharkfin style aerial. Was all working fine until one day there was no DAB signal for days which was very unusual in my area which is always good. After trying alsorts and resetting the radio within the settings the DAB doesn't even show now in the waveband options. I also very very occasionally get a frozen satnav which may or may not be linked. I have nothing plugged into lighter sockets or have additional satnav or dashcam etc. Can anyone advice on options other than spending £130 on an Audi diagnostic. Many thanks in advance.
