Hi all, My name is Hasan and I have just purchased my first ever Audi. Always been a 'Golf' man but here we are. As the title explains its an Audi A3 1.6 TDI Sport (8P). Its a 3 door 2010 model finished off in Metallic Silver with only 59k on the clock. Full Audi Service History and came complete with a full years MOT - no advisories and 1 year warranty. Happy days! Wanted to introduce myself as I'm sure you will all be seeing me on here a lot over the next few months. Will get some pictures posted once I've finished work. Also if anyone has a 3 door 8P preferably around 2009/10 model, feel free to share any pics.

Are there any easy to do upgrades that will go nicely on the A3? Looking online and they all look a bit daft, looking for the slightly sportier look without buying the S3 :) model is the tfsi sport. Already got the oem mudflaps to square it off and looks nice, thanks.

Hi, I'm looking for some advice on my A3 Saloon. I have a new 2017 facelifted A3 saloon and I'm looking to put the S3 facelift diffuser on my car so I can put a new quad exhaust on it, however the only ones I can find have come off a facelifted sportback/hatchback not off the Saloon and I'm wondering if the fitment will be the same or different? If anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it, Thanks

Hi, I’m new here but not new to Audi. I like cars and always have but I know virtually zero about anything technical. I can only just top up the oil and even that can be a challenge. I’ve been driving an Audi A4 Cabriolet for 10 years and I've just bought, (but yet to actually get hold of) an almost new A3 Cabriolet. I’d like to get a tracker put on it and the Audi main dealer can do it but I’d like to know if it’s something I could/should do myself? Any recommendations. I’d also like to get a rear view camera (I’m 66 and have a stiff back) but the main dealer won’t fit it. I stretched myself a little with the car and I’m not wild about the Audi main dealer style prices so wonder if this is a common and easy fix too? Thank you.

Hello all! My 2nd hand transfer box arrived today, now all I need to do is get it in the car/get it put on the car by someone else lol. Is this a hard job?? And do you think it's going to be expensive? Dreading it! 😫Just want my car back on the road already... cheers!

Hello there, I'm new to this forum! Have had my Audi A3 about 6 months now, would never go back, great cars! I've recently had some trouble though 👎(Just my luck!) the transfer box has broken, there is a hole in it and leaking oil... I've been looking around on eBay etc. For this part, I have found a couple online for around £400-500. I'm not so great with this kind of thing however... lots of questions!! Does it have to be one of the exact same car? is it ok to get a second hand one? Also is this a common problem with the A3? Thank you so much, only been on here a hour and found lots of interesting stuff already! Josh

Hi Guys, First of all, I'm new here and completely blue to audi's, so go easy on me. I just have a few questions before finalising my decision on a purchase of an Audi A3 or A4. Coming from the golf, I knew everything about the cars, which engines to go for, what to look out for when purchasing and how much roughly a clean model is really worth. However being completely new to Audi's, always wanting one and being in a position to purchase one, I am looking to get some questions answered. I have looked through this forum, looked for buyers guides or pointers and couldnt find anything to answer my questions. So, first of all, how much are these cars really worth? I know this is subjective, however lets say a clean example, with fsh and not a crap ton of miles, how much am I looking to pay? I have a budget from 3,5 to 5,5k, and I am looking for a clean example, preferably 06 onward however an 08 would be the perfect spot. I'd like a diesel, fuel economy is important for me. I have already read into this whole 1.9 vs 2.0 tdi's and whats wrong with the 2.0 and how its not as reliable, however after gathering all that information i am still leaning towards the 2.0 tdi 140. What should I be looking for? What big parts need replacing after certain miles? I heard the turbo needs replacing around 150k miles, so I thought to look either for a low mileage example or one that already has the big jobs done. Any problematic parts on these cars that like to go, certain sound I should be looking for? I'd like to finally buy a car that will drive me for the next few years without headaches and constant worry and taking it to the garage all the time. Difference between the 8P and the B7? I like the size of the A4 B7, and i always loved something about an estate, avant in terms of audi talk (still confusing). It might seem like a family car but I love it haha, is there certain engine codes i should avoid or look to buy? I understand that the A4 and A3 is very similar platform running the same engines? I just have all these questions in my mind, hopefully this is in the right place and im not causing chaos. Thanks in Advance, Mac. :)

Hello, New to the forum and new to Audi :) So I've had my A3 which is my first car for just over a year and now I'm looking to improve it. My A3 isn't the Bose version so the first thing I would like to do is completely replace the sound system. I have been looking at the Sony XAV-AX100 as a potential new head unit but apart from what I like I know nothing about the parts that I will need. My initial budget is around £900 but I could be convinced to up that if it'll be worth it. I had been looking at Sony speakers simply so that everything would match but I don't have a clue if they will be good. I also would like to avoid a massive sub woofer in the boot if possible. I prefer quality audio (Not a bass head) so if there is one hidden somewhere in the car that i can replace then great but I'm thinking the most likely thing for me is a sub under the passenger seat. I don't have much of a clue so any help is greatly appreciated :D Many Thanks, Tom

Hi all Picked up my first German car on Friday being an A3 1.8TFSI Black Edition, Sportback after previously buying Peugeot/Citreon motors and being into the old modifying lark in my younger years. Small amounts still sit with me now, don't think it ever leaves you! But was time to chop the old car in and get something a bit more practical with more doors, but still with a bit of fun to it. So far I'm loving it! So smooth and quiet to drive which wouldn't have been hard coming from a 13 year old 206GTi with a noisy aftermarket exhaust! Only thing I was surprised at is little things like auto wipers and lights not being a standard considering I had them on my old car. But I'll get used to that and love how bright the headlights are on this! Will be keeping this pretty stock, apart from I'll be debadging the rear soon. Considering upgrading the stereo to something I can bluetooth directly to, currently got a bluetooth auxillary dongle which is doing the trick for now. Have been really impressed with the Bose speakers though! The idea of a stage 1 remap and a RS3 style mesh front grill also sound appealing, but we'll see. Anyway, hi from me! Ads

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else was having issues with the handbrake. I have had my car for nearly a year now and sometimes the handbrake doesn't work. I have put it on and held it until I can hear it work but it takes itself off again. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 attempts to put the handbrake on. Has anyone else had the same issue? Thanks.

Hi Everyone, Hope you are well. I have just made the common error of reversing off a Kerb and scraping the underneath part of the bumper on the drivers side. There are no scratches on the paintwork, but the plastic looking part behind it is all scratched up. Should I be worried or not? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Josh G.

Hi all This is my very first post so hi to you all. Im sure this question will have cropped up before but I'd like to ask you all. The passenger rear window and central lock is not working. as for the window this does not function from any point wether it be from the door or the drivers switch. The lock is pretty much the same it's unlocked and won't lock at all not even with the key. Now due to them both not working in the same door I'd assume the issue is related but I just don't know enough to be sure. im hoping someone can advise me as it's probably happened before. thanks in advance mark

Hi Everyone, I'm a new boy on the block with a 3.2 V6 Audi A3, Manual. I'm confused by the quoted power outputs of my engine: Audi quotes 250PS (247BHP) but my handbook (Manufacturer's) states : chassis, engine, body, trim, Gbox and a PS of 279!!!? Aside from putting it on a rolling road, has anyone heard of a 3.2 279PS Audi A3? it sounds like the Golf variant output but did they put that engine in the A3 and what's the difference mechanically in the engine? I have a 2003 Audi A3 2.0TDI which has just been diagnosed as having a cracked piston head I have been told that to purchase a brand new part it will cost around £1000 for the part and then there's the labour to add on top. I have also been told from a different mechanic that I might be as well to purchase another engine and get that fitted instead of replacing the part itself. What would you guys suggest I do? Another question I have got is would I have to get the exact same 140bhp engine as the one that is has now? I have seen on eBay a few 2.0TDI A3 engines that are producing around 180bhp standard, obviously my car only has a 140bhp turbo (this is a fairly new turbo, only been fitted around 2 months) so would this not work? I am aware that I can pull this engine out of SEAT's and VW's etc so another option I have would be to purchase a spares and repairs car that has the engine I need which runs fine but has been smashed up at the back and take that engine? I really don't want and don't have the cash to buy another car so would like to be able to get this one back on the road as cheaply as possible whilst at the same time not cutting any corners... Any help and recommendations would be appreciated!

I purchased my A3 from new last year, I had previously had a Volkswagen Golf I've always driven at night with no problems. Since I purchased this a3 I have been saying the glare is really bad. The other week my passenger experienced this in the passenger seat, it's so bad in the side mirrors it's blinding. I called Audi asking if someone could come out with me in the car so they can see how bad it is and to try to give me help or advice to try to stop this. To my amazement the first thing the techinician said was it was because I didn't have anti glare mirrors which one I didn't know anything about. I would assume a £23000 car would have them, but I wasn't even told about them as an optional extra as had I known I would of ordered them as I mainly drive night. I was told they cannot even be fitted to my car which is only 18 months old I have to buy a new car ! When I challenged the Audi dealership about this they said we tell our customers that they are not fitted with anti glare as standard, however I think this is a safety feature and customers should be told as if you are short like me the glare is so bad that I struggle to see at night. So at the moment I am looking for possible tinting to see if this helps. Has anyone else had this problem or have a solution for this.

Taking the opportunity to upgrade my 2007 A3 Sportback rear bumper after some idiot drove into it! Looking for the following >> Type: A3 Facelift 09-12 Rear Sportback Bumper Colour: Black (in good used condition which won't require any work or a respray) Diffuser: Twin exhaust S-line mesh style (like the attached picture) The bumpers come up regularly on Ebay but the diffuser is the hard bit to get hold of! If anyone has the diffuser to sell separately I'd also be interested (I've read that the 3dr, 5dr & cabriolet diffusers are the same fitment so will fit a Sportback bumper)

Hi all, I've just become the proud owner of a 66 plate Audi A3 1.4 tfsi sport back in nano grey and want to give the engine a bit more of the growl it deserves! I just wondered if you guys could give any advice on what performance air filters / induction kit I could get for her? I rang k&n today and they said they haven't got any air filters / induction kits for the plate,make and model. if anyone knows of one that would fit, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you
