  1. Hello all Me Birt Ram and Claire jumped in my Audi A6 3.0TDI S Line Le Mans and headed for Barcelona via Amsterdam. We stayed in Germany for most of the journey rather than France for obvious reasons and we got there in no time. Even when we did have to go through France we averaged 120mph through the night. After a few days in Barcelona me and Birt decided to venture on. We headed for Monaco and both had a go driving through the tunnel so we could say when we watch the F1 that we had done it. It's the small things haha. Then decided we wanted to visit a water park Jesolo which is in Italy. So off we went and through the night again it was superb. We ended up in a race with two identical Abarth 500's which you just couldn't make up, it was amazing, we played with them for a while then !Removed! off using the mighty power from the V6. After visiting the water park we decided that we might as well go to Venice, on the way into Venice you go over a bride covered in speed cameras. Being in a UK registered car I made every single camera flash, that was fun. In Venice we had a wander round got a pizza and then decided it was time so we headed to our favourite place - THE NURBURGRING. On the way there we passed through Austria, we have driven through Austria before and loved it so we were very happy to do it again. It didn't let us down. Superb roads and incredible views. Birt got stopped by the police for speeding and tailgating though. €35 Euro each resulting in a €75 on the spot fine and no points or anything like that. Not to bad. Parked up for the evening in a lay by off a German autobahn I was putting my private reg on as I had just had a phone call to say the new V5 had come in the post at home and a man grabs me. Turns out to be undercover armed police accusing us of stealing the car. After a long time we managed to sort it out even without the V5 and at that point the police had given up. They didn't understand anything about private reg's so by the end they basically just let us drive off and trusted us that we had put the correct reg on. Once at the Nurburgring we did a few laps each with some time in between to let the brakes cool down and had no drama whatsoever so all good. Always worth visiting if you haven't been. After that we decided to stop off in Amsterdam for another night on the way home to relax. Best idea ever. Home safe Month or so later recieve a 100mph speeding ticket from the M25 after doing 155mph legally in Germany. Oh !Removed!
  2. Hi there I am just new here, I bought an A6 Saloon from 2007 at a very very good price and so far everything is working perfect, all smooth, I feel like in a spaceship I am so happyyyy. Apologies for my message but I am really happy with my "new" car. I know some people here have 2015-16 models and think there is no need to be that happy but don't really care :).
  3. Hi all, I have a brand new turbo for sale. I bought it initially for my A6 and when I fitted it, I realized that something else was wrong on the car making it not worth fixing it anymore. This turbo ran for litterally 3 minutes. It is a brand new Garett for 1.9l TDI engine (BRE models). Don't hesitate to contact me for more information.
  4. I'm after a proper induction kit for the 3.0 TDI quattro, either a full kit by a performance manufacturer or if someone has done a homemade job with some silicone pipe, filter and jubilee clips etc, I'd love to hear from you and how you did it. Or if you found that one for the 3.0, 3.2 or 4.2 petrols worked just as well. A search online has revealed nothing for me sadly, no support for the diesels, only some petrols. I know diesels don't rely on air as much as the petrols, maybe this is why I'm struggling to find one that fits. If nothing comes of this and no one can help, I'm tempted to have a go at making one myself and will post some 'how to' pics below. Thanks in advance! Josh

  6. Cars from beginning to now 17 yr old Citroen Saxo 1.1 Forte 2001 Before I got 18 I got banned for a year 18 yr old and ban ended got a Honda Civic 1.6 2002 19 yr old Vauxhall Vectra 1.9TDI (150) 2005 (got caught doing 120mph on M6, got banned for 14 days) 20 yr old Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 2006 Silver (got caught doing 76mph in a temporary 50mph on the m6, got banned for 10 days) 21yr old Cadillac CTS 3.6 V6 2007 Black 21yr old Audi A6 3.0TDI 2005 Manual Silver 22yr old Audi A6 3.0TDI 2006 Auto Grey 22yr old Eunos Roadster 1.6 1990 Blue I'm 22 and I'm on my second Audi. First one was a 2005 A6 3.0TDI SE Manual and now i currently have a 2006 3.0TDI S Line LeMans Auto. The gearbox in the manual was shockingly bad so went for a auto. So far on the LeMans I have had a remap, 4 new Uniroyal Rainsport 3's and they are so sticky it's amazing. Changed the whole character of the car. Took it round the Nurburgring so put a sticker on the back ;) I've just ordered a RS6 Style honeycomb grill but without the RS6 badge. Windows are Tinted and I want to get the lights smoked too. I have also ordered a big Quattro badge for the bottom of the grill. It's all debadged from new except the two main Audi badges. I'm after a Milltek exhaust and anything else to get some more power gains . . . If you have any ideas please tell me
  7. Hi, looking for an audi 2003 a6 2.5 tdi saloon (c5) passenger wing mirror. Colour code is lz9w. Sort of need to fix car before a trip and really want to get it rectified after waiting for one to pop up on ebay for a month or two. If this is not permitted please erase. Would appreciate if anyone could direct me to anyone who has one going cheap.
  8. Hi. I recently purchased a 2014 A6 Avant 2.0 tdi ultra black edition, which I believe is the latest 190PS engine. I was told the car would do around 60MPG combined, which I understand is never going to be realistic but still I would expect 50MPG when driven carefully on a long run. Now the car is mostly used by my wife to do short 2-3 mile journeys daily, mostly school runs and trips to the supermarket. Now I know this sort of driving is not going to give the best MPG, but I am only getting around 34MPG and in some instances 25-30MPG. I bought the car partly for its MPG, but this is crazy as it costs £80 to fill up and doesn't take long for it to need refilling. The car is driven slowly in ECO mode, but is this correct that I am getting such a low MPG? I hope someone else can shed some light if they have had similar experiences as I am seriously considering selling it for something more fuel efficient for this type of driving. Any thoughts on a alternative car would be much appreciated. thanks Ben
  9. Hi i need some advice , i'm trying to find decent garage in Nottingham where someone help me to droop down my a6 , i need advice what suspension i should use and ruffly cost of this operation . Regards
  10. Hello everyone, My name is Colin and I have become an Audi owner for the first time. The car, which I have owned for (as I type this) about 22 hours has already been borrowed by my wife and taken to work, leaving me at home still trying to understand the MMI manual (Novel). I know very little about the vehicle and its electronics and it will be like all of my other cars, a steep learning curve. I discovered that there isn't a Haynes manual for it so I went to emanualsonline (dot com) and downloaded one. My German is rusty but it will comeback to me when I start reading it. There should be a picture of the car attached somewhere on here. It is a 2006 A6 Avant 2.7 TDI S Line Quattro and was a dealer demonstrator before going to its first owner for the last 10 years. I do have a selection of questions that I would like to ask about the car but I will reserve them for the correct sections of the forum Kind regards Colin
  11. Hi All, Have just found the Forum in some spare time. Great information. Bit about me. First car I bought after passing my test was my uncles Audi 100 5E saloon Auto (C2). Such a great car an I was privileged to own such a high range car at the age of 19! Messed around with various Japanese cars for a few years then bought an Audi Coupe GT. What a car. According to the Police officer who attended that crash (head on by a Louts Driver) not caused by me. If it hadn't been a German car I wouldn't be alive. I will find some pics from my files soon and post. Has an Audi A90 Quattro as a company car as well. Been through the usual BMW phase (expensive to maintain), and VW's but back to an Audi A6 Avant S line 3.0 TDI Quattro Tiptronic. Bought it as an ex-demo car from main dealer (was a Le-mans pre-issue spec) at 6,500 miles and now coming up to 194,000!! Great dealer service from Leicester Audi and love my car. Cant find any excuse to change it really! More soon Carl
  12. Hi all, just introducing myself, located in Lincolnshire near Holbeach and new to Audi having just watched my old Jag disintegrate before my eyes... Purchased an A6 SE 2007 to use as the daily and its already paying its way, although of course a couple of small niggles I'll try and sort out through the technical pages and you lovely people. Cheers!
  13. From the album: My Audi A6

  14. Recently purchased an Audi A6 with 88k miles on the clock. Wanted something relatively practical whilst being a little different. Had been looking to buy a 2.7 or 3.0 tdi A4 but when I saw this, I thought "why not"! I am a big fan of cars and over the years, have had many friends who have (and still do) spend a lot of money getting their cars sorted. My plan is to keep the car pretty standard (excluding the air and alloys) but will be looking to replace the ancient sat nav and remap at some point (funds permitting) just to get a bit more out on the engine. Any body with experience in these areas, would love to hear your thoughts. Tried to upload a picture of the car - hope it works...
  15. I am currently looking to sell my number plate that is currently on my car but i am taking off this week and putting it on certificate. I have been quoted by the DVLA website and a third party valuation of £400 so i am looking around that figure but it is up for negotiation Thanks in advance
  16. Genuine Audi roof rails, profile made from anodised aluminium, embossed Audi logo. Really easy to fit, mounted with anti-theft bolts. Compatible with A3, A4 & A6, possibly other models. 3 x Genuine Audi bicycle racks, each one lockable with keys included. (Picture included from Audi brochure to indicate which type.) Both roof rails & bike racks mentioned above were only bought earlier this year, used a handful of times, looked after & in great condition. A4 Avant boot liner (black) bought last year from hatchbag.co.uk, kept the boot spotless, what a great buy this was. Still in great condition, easy wipe down surface. Compatible with Allroad, Quatro & S4. Open to offers for all of the above, would like to shift everything in one go if possible, looking for a quick sale. If you're interested let me know. Cheers.
  17. Hello, This is my first post on the forum, I did a quick search but couldn't find what I was looking for, sorry if this has already been covered. After doing my research, the best car for me, is a 2005-2008 A6 (C6) Avant 3.0 TDI Quattro. I do mixed driving, covering city, motorway, dual carriageway and the twisty windy country B roads. I’ve always been a manual driver (love having that extra control) but for this particular car, will I have to change my ways and opt for an auto? I don’t mind autos, both have their pros and cons… but would the knowledgeable Audi drivers please step forward with some advice. I understand I’m looking for the ‘older model’ therefore my main concern is not necessarily about handling or mpg...I’m more interested in maintenance and reliability. Which one has the least problems, which is more reliable, manual or automatic and why? I look forward to hearing from those in the know.
  18. Hello all, I currently own an A6 Avant, 3.0 TFSI engine, Quattro drivetrain with S-Tronic auto gearbox, S-Line trim with Technology Pack and Comfort Pack. Full S/H - just serviced and MOT'd two weeks ago @ 36,000 miles. The full advert is on autotrader at present…http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201603011527490 I won’t bore you with all the intricate details as you guys know more about Audi’s than most, but this car is the top of range A6 avant model, the 3.0 V6 supercharged engine delivers 300PS, and 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds, it has sport mode and launch control which create truly astonishing acceleration for a car of this size. Paddle gear shift on steering wheel for semi-auto mode, making this car seriously fun and exciting to drive. Sports suspension. Full valcona leather trim inside, heated seats, heated multi-function 3 spoke steering wheel with voice activation for sat nav and phone etc. Tech pack – MMI High, with MMI Touch - touch sensitive pad beside gear selector, letters/numbers can be 'drawn' with finger. Larger sized full colour LED monitor with DVD player in the front, Audi Connect to access internet searches for news, weather, parking searches etc, and google maps overlay for the sat nav. Full colour dash display behind steering wheel for sat nav, speedo, and all the usual. DAB Radio. HDD for Audi ‘Jukebox’, music can be saved directly to hard drive in car. Advanced parking system - Front forward and both front corner cameras, and rear backward and both rear corner cameras, automatically activated when parking system is engaged (when car is in reverse or button pressed on dash) and shown on LED display. Comfort pack – full electronically adjustable front seats, heated. Drivers seat has memory function, can be set with preset buttons on drivers door, or programmed to the two individual Advance Keys, wing mirror positions can also be saved. Sports seats, very comfortable. Tailgate electrically operated, opened and closed from inside car, or with button on Advance Key, or button on tailgate. Audi first aid kit in rear armrest, with ‘ski hatch’. Full Xenon Plus headlight system. Rear LED lights. It is a beautiful car, and very hard to get hold of with the TFSI petrol engine, but it blows the socks off any other engines on offer, apart from the V8 S and RS models of course. Engine can be tuned by Revo or other reputable company – Revo worked extensively with this very engine model and have built their software around it – only reason I didn’t get it done is that when I took it to VAS in Guildford last year it turned out that Audi had upgraded the onboard software before I picked it up, and Revo hadn’t had a chance to map the upgrade yet, so missed out. Only selling as getting an Audi company car through work, and can’t justify keeping hold of it, plus there isn’t room on the drive! Had some interest through Autotrader, but wanted to open it up to serious Audi lovers who will actually appreciate the car for what it is. Priced to sell - £25,000. Thanks! Andy

  20. My A6 has been in the garage now for over 6 weeks. It's an A6 Avant. It had been leaking oil and I was advised that the head gasket had gone. When I popped round to pick it up the mechanic told me that they had taken it to have it's head skimmed. When I popped around the next day they hadn't finished putting it back together and said it would be ready the next day. They also mentioned that it had to have 10thou skimmed. Not being a mechanic that does not mean a lot to me ;-(. Anyway since then they have been unable to start the car!!!! apparently they have checked the EGR valve and apparently that is ok. They have also checked the wiring with no indication of any problems there ............. May I add that before taking car in ..... it was running great and starting has never been an issue. Any help would be much appreciated !!!! John
  21. Gutted to be selling my Audi A6 Quattro 2.5 ltd TDI 6 speed. The car has approx 215,000 miles on the clock and the engine was replaced about 70,000 miles ago. This vehicle is a non-runner as the head gasket has gone. As far as can be told there is no engine damage and this would be an easy project for a hobbies / enthusiast. It had a new radiator and water pump in March last year. Chassis is in good condition as is the body work for it's age. Various scuffs (light level scratches) and a couple of tiny dents dotted around. Sold as seen (minus the bike rack). Prior to the head gasket going it was a great car to drive, powerful and well balanced and sadly got my first speeding ticket in so there is considerable sentimental value! Engine cover is available, it just wasn't on the engine when I took the photos. Also please note the bike rack on the back doesn't come with the car :) Vehicle registration is P51 LYA - I've just taken my cherished plate off it hence the lack of plates on the car. If you're interested give me a shout with questions / offers. Many Thanks Andy 07827 434343
  22. Hi, new member having come back to Audi from Vauxhall - no i dont know what i was doing either. Have invested in this nicely custom A6 C5 Avant, on Coilovers and 19" 3sdm's wrapped in Vredsteins. Colour is a matte grey wrap, was someones promo vehicle til a purchased it. Engine is a mildly tuned 1.8t around 190-200bhp. Loads of torque. Showing its age in places, though it has a nice one-off leather/suede interior as well, just needs a little time and care
  23. Hi Ladies & Gents. I have an Audi A6 for sale. It's a non-runner - Head Gasket. The gasket went on the driveway so no engine use since gasket went. It had just had new radiator and water pump. Chassis is in good condition for it's age. Would be ideal for someone who wants to buy a classic and tinker with it. If you're interested please drop me a message. I have one photo uploaded which is just there until I get some more over the next few days.
  24. HI Everyone, I recently bought an Audi A6 1.8T 2001, not knowning it would have issues straight away. When starting the car, it will misfire ramdonly for the first minute or so and there will hardly be any power, then the car will seem to try as normal but does feel like its being held back a little. I bought a VAG-COM reader and used VCDS lite software to read to error codes.
