  1. Hi Guys Keen to know how I can update the 3G MMI system without having to go to Audi (my local Audi are awful) and without having to spend a mental amount on maps update via 3rd party. I'm wanting a complete update with Nav update or atleast a bluetooth update (bluetooth keeps dropping in and out if the phone is in my pocket during music streaming). I tried to use the 2015 bluetooth update on the Audi website but it wouldn't work. Any help is appreciated, I've read other forums but they are either too complicated (and I'm not that stupid) or generally it's Americans or Mainland Europeans doing the update, looking for UK experience). Thanks Chris
  2. Hi, Myself and my wife have recently purchased out latest edition to the family, 2016 TT TFSI, but unfortunately I am having some trouble selecting my music on my Nokia Lumia 930 using the virtual screen. My Lumia paired not problem at all, and managed to make/receive calls very well. When I select Bluetooth Streaming via the MMI, the vehicle cockpit just displays "LOADING", and has done for three full journeys now, each journey lasting about 30 to 45 minutes. If I ignore this message and select music via my phone music app, the track plays via the MMI, and displays the track title/folder information, but I cannot scroll/select tunes via the car. On checking phone compatibility using the Audi Compatibility search web page, it would seem that the MMI Navigation does not support "Access library" on my phone, but does support "Bluetooth Audioplayer". So, does this simply mean that I will have to use my phone app to search and select tracks, or have I misread this? Any help gratefully appreciated. Beejco.
  3. hi i buy s8 from japan put in sat nev in from uk but interface gone wrong need help someone can fix
  4. I posted a topic similar to this the other day but as yet, have had no feed back. I have been looking to upgrade my MMI basic plus in my car (red mono screen) with MMI high (colour screen). Has anyone done this? I found this website which tells me I could do it for £1,000: http://www.f-knaviexpert.co.uk/product/audi-a6a5a4q7-convert-mmi-basic-plus-to-mmi-high/ But have since found the same company on e-bay offering, what seems at face value at least, the same service for £150: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A6-A4-Q7-Convert-MMI-Basic-into-MMI-High-/122170903082?hash=item1c71f40a2a:m:m2ZYGqZ3b77FbgJvHx2vyHQ I am no idiot and know that it is not to be trusted but has anyone used "F-K Navi Expert"?
  5. Hi, I have connected my iPhone to the MMI via blue tooth which works well but how do I transfer my contacts onto the built in hard drive? I want to be able to select the voice command and say call Sarah for example and for the call to connect. At the minute the car simply tells me no numbers are stored. I can receive calls no problem or call out using the actual phone to dial the contact but that's not ideal when driving or when it's in my pocket etc. Thanks in advance, hope this makes sense.
  6. Hi, If there is anyone looking to update their Audi A8 MMI firmware and sat-nav database, I have a full set of genuine Audi SD cards, one for the firmware (HN+R_EU_AU_K0900), one for the sat-nav database (6.22.4) and the third card which is the official licence. I also have the instructions and can provide e-mail support should it be needed. £160.00 only. Reply to this post if you are interested.
  7. Hi all, Brand new Audi A6, bit of trouble with pairing iPhone 5s, wondering if anyone else is encountering similar problems. iPhone 5s iOS 9.3.2 Audi Bluetooth firmware 3.7 (latest I believe...hopefully they roll them out the factory on the latest update!) Phone pairs with Audi, phone pairs for media and plays media though MMI/car stereo no problem (this includes music, and general phone sounds such as volume up, lock screen etc etc). However when making calls there is no audio link even though the phone dials and automatically selects the Audi device for speaker connectivity (rather than iPhone or iPhone speaker) I feel it's more likely to be an iOS bluetooth bug with the latest software update as I've had varying degrees of bad luck with other Apple devices on the same build. Anyone else having any of these troubles? Cheers in advance.
  8. I have an AUDI A1 2011.I had the dealership install SD navigation on it two months ago. They told me that they installed the "new" firmware for MMI.Can someone confirm what software am I running? Is it current? Thanks :)
  9. I own a Audi A1 with retrofited SD based navigation. For some reason few things the MMI system refuses to save once I set them:1. Autozoom (I set it to "ON" and it goes back to "OFF" then shut off my engine and come back tomorrow)2. Map display content (I check it to show nearby garages and parking only for MMI to un-check it at the next engine start)Does anyone else experience this issue on their car (regardless of the model)?
  10. First of all, I have to explain that I am new to Audi Cars so I apologise in advance if I sound daft with this question. I have recently purchased a 15plate Audi A4 Avant S-line with the MMI system installed. I have been trying to connect an IPod touch to the system with the appropriate cable to connect the device to the socket found in the glove box. The system has identified the Ipod OK, and I can select music OK. But the problem is that t playback is not via the cars speakers, but the ipod's internal speaker. Do I need to install the Audi MMI app on the Ipod? Any advice and guidance would be appreciated. Mike B
  11. I quite fancy getting dab radio in my 62 plate a4 (mmi 3g). Read a few bits of info I've found saying it can be retrofitted? Anyone done this? I have found a few genuine second hand dab units which apparently fit in the boot with all the other mmi gubbins and connect with certain cables to the mmi, all which can be bought online quite cheaply? Then use a 3rd party aerial which can be mounted on top of the side panel next to the rear quarter light? Question is, is it that easy or does it need a software change as well? Anyone done this successfully? Thanks for any help!
  12. HELLO I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME.. MY BUILT IN SAT NAV(MMI) HAD A FAULTY DVD/SAT NAV LENS AND WAS`NT READING MY SAT NAV DISK.. SO I GOT A USED UNIT AND SWAPPED THE CD DRIVE.. 13. 2009 Audi A6 Avant GSM phone prep LOW Hi, I have for the fitting point in my arm rest for a phone cradle. I have just brought an IPhone 5c and want to buy the cradle for it. Having spoken to an Audi dealer they say they don't know if the 5c is compatible with the iphone 5/5s cradle. Apparently Audi say it is only compatible with the 5 and 5s but I can't understand what difference the 5c would make? Same charging point and same software on the phone surely... Local Audi dealer think Audi may have just not tested the 5c so are unwilling to categorically say it works just encase it doesn't... Hoping someone else has tried this phone cradle with their iPhone 5c and knows if it works or not? Audi have said they will refund me if it doesn't work but I would prefer to find out before paying any money... Any help or advice appreciated. Thanks!
  14. Hello everyone. I'm awaiting my A3 (2010) Black Edition which has RNS-E(?) installed. When I sat in it, there was a "plughole" for an audi cable (in the glove box from memory) which allows ipod control but I couldn't find the cable itself anywhere. The dealership says it's included but if it isn't, i'll need a new one .....problem is, which one? Firstly, being a 2010 car, will iphone/ipod track and info appear on the display? Will I be able to control it fully from the steering wheel? Secondly, if yes, then to do this what do I need? Question 1: I think the first option should work, but for more flexibility, would option 2 be OK with a standard Apple charging cable plugged into that -- i.e. would I still retain full control of the iPod with the ability to also control USB sticks if needed instead? This option gives me the widest flexibilty. Question 2: In future, if I upgrade to a newer iPod, would I also be able to simply add an iPod adapter to either option 1 or add my standard lightning charging cable to option 2 to convert to lightning equipped phones and have full control or do I need a completely new/different MMI to lightning cable? Ideally i'd like the MMI - USB cable so that I can (hopefully) plug any android or apple phone or USB stick in and get full control - I just need to know it will work before I order it (or get the dealer to provide it). Thanks for any help. P.S. I haven't recieved the car yet and this is my first Audi so I think it's an RNS-E satnav installed but may be wrong. I posted an intro in the "New members introductions" section and put a photo of the unit in the cabin in there so you can see what it comes with...
  15. Hi, I have got an 11' A6 S Line, which is also my first Audi. I want to add a CarPC and still look stock, so I would ideally use the MMI screen ut add touch screen functionality. with this in mind I have a couple of questions below - 1) How can I tell what generation and version of MMI I have? 2) What is the screen resolution on the MMI screen? i.e. 640x480 3) What is the connection type used to connect the screen to MMI? 4) What is the connection type used for the AUX input on the screen Thanks
  16. Looking for some advice please, I have two questions below about my A5 and oil consumption. I know this is an old and repeated problem for the 2.0T, so I'm not looking to confirm that the engine is an oil guzzler / the old piston ring problem. Background (sorry it's a bit long): it's a 58 plate 2.0T petrol model, (FASH, and 67k miles). I bought privately and it has no warranty. It's burning too much oil, much more than 0.5l per 600 miles (1000km) specified in the handbook. So far an independent specialist garage has changed what they called the oil separator for £150 as he said it was being mixed in and burnt off. Straight after the repair it was showing max oil on the MMI, and held that position for 200 miles. It's now suddenly halfway between min and max on the MMI, which I understand represents not total engine oil (4.7l), but the top most litre in the engine meaning it has burnt 0.5l in 200 miles. I also bought a manual dipstick to check and confirmed. Questions are: 1) Have people experienced such a drop in engine oil after a repair in around 200-300 miles? I saw on another forum that after such a repair it can need a little oil to work into the engine, to compensate for the fact it was previously just being burned off. 2) If my piston rings are knackered (as I fear), what are my chances of pushing audi uk to support with the cost of the £4-5k bill, on the basis this is clearly a manufacturer problem, and not general wear and tear. Thanks
  17. Hi All, I own an Audi A4 (B8) Saloon SE Technic that came with MMI and Navigation System Plus. I have two questions regarding updating the software. 1) When I purchased the new car, the dealer told me that I was entitled to 5 free navigation updates in the first 2 and a half years, one in every half year. I called the dealership 8 months after purchase, when they said that's incorrect information and I probably misunderstood. Well, human memory can be misleading, but I'm pretty confident that's what I was told. Anyone has information on this, please share with me. 2) After purchase, a CD-ROM was delivered with the car that had a slightly newer version of the MMI software than the factory installed. I went ahead and updated. Is it possible to obtain new versions (free or paid) so I can update myself (and if so, would that include navigation updates or only the firmware) or it can only be done in an Audi service? Thank you
  18. Hi, I have a 2005 S-Line Audi A6 Avant Quattro ... MMI is dead, damaged by leaking rear screen wash hose... Audi UK have refused to honour manufacture's warranty on the amp (£900 item)... despite local Audi dealership identifying that leak was cause of damage... I have removed amp to try & dry out on radiator overnight... What chances of success...?? or should I source one from breaker on ebay...?? Any help would be really appreciated.. Thanks
  19. Hi, I'm hoping someone else has encountered this problem! I've recently purchased the 2008 Model A5. Came with the MMI system but doesn't allow USB/SD capabilities. It features AUX under the arm rest but I've never been a fan of AUX and the fact I can't control this through the car. Is there any way of connecting a wire to the MMI system from behind or something that can allow me to install a USB cable. I have heard there is a CDC port at the back of this, so what can be done with this? Also, does the MMI have a built in hard drive that I can tap into? How do I store music on this and how can I then have access to it? Hope you can help!
