    Hi All , Im new here so apologies if this is in the wrong place. I have recently brought a 2005 A4 cabriolet 3ltr which has a problem. When i start it sometimes it appears to be in limp mode . if i switch off the engine and tap the selector and restart all is ok . Any of you guys any ideas please ?

    Auto stop/start wont' always work. It's subject to so many parameters that have to be right before it will kick in, the main one being that there has to be enough charge in the battery for it to restart the car. As above assume you have a petrol version? I have 20" wheels on mine and get 55mpg on a long run (diesel) and low to mid 40s around town.
