  1. Has anyone sold an 8P lately?

I've been trying to sell mine for a month now with no interest at all!  I know they're getting on a bit now, and mine is slightly modified, so mainstream selling sites probably aren't ideal.

Just wondered where people have found them to sell most easily & quickly?

    Cheers

    Tom

  2. Brand new set of front & rear Eibach springs and Bilstein front shocks.  These are a 50mm diameter strut, NOT 55mm.  Should fit any FWD 8P or mk5 Golf with the correct strut size.  Rated for 2.0TDI and similar weight engines.  Never fitted to the car as it turned out my struts were 55mm.  These give a 30mm drop front and rear and should improve the ride comfort which is why I bought them.

Eibach pro kit E10-15-007-03-22 (4 springs, 30mm drop front and rear)

Bilstein 22-131607 (Front shocks only, no rears)

Located near Ipswich for collection or can send via courier.

    £175

  3. If it's a normal remote key, not keyless or anything like that, I was quoted £140 at 3 independent places to have a new one cut and programmed to give you a rough idea, it's probably a bit cheaper up North.  Main dealer never even got back to me with a quote lol.

  4. Audi A3 2.0 TDI Sport

MOT until July 2019 (12 months)
103,500 miles (will rise as still in use)
    FSH inc cambelt change
    140bhp/55mpg

Bodywork in very good condition. Has had the facelift S-Line front bumper and bonnet fitted, along with the S-Line rear spoiler. Also has an RS4 style honeycomb grill, gel plates and wind deflectors.

Very well specced inside, electric windows and mirrors, 2 remote keys, cruise control, dual zone climate control with ice cold air con, Audi RNSE sat nav system with recent nav disc, CD and SD card inputs and Bose speakers, half leather and alcantara seats.

Full service history including cambelt kit change, recent Brembo pads and discs all round, recent alternator, wheel bearing, rear shocks and front drop links.

Located near Ipswich for collection. Only selling as I needed something with a smoother ride due to health problems.

(PS - Sorry for the poor pictures, my camera can't cope with the sun!)

  5. Even on SE suspension I don't think it'll be smooth enough, low seating position etc all adds up so the A3 will have to go sadly.

I've bought a Mk6 Golf match instead...boring but comfortable lol.

Only thing is I've only got one key atm, would you know if I could buy another and programme it with VCDS or is it not that simple?  I'll probably join a Golf Forum and ask but guess they're the same as Audi's, the key looks the same as the A3 key tbh.

Hi Tom I can confirm the a4 s line suspension is lower and stiffer than see suspension plus the 18" wheels will make the ride harder. What sort of a3 do you have?

    Cheers

    Steve

    Thanks Steve,

The A3 is a2005 8P Sport 2.0TDI on original 17s.  Haven't been able to confirm whether the Sport and S-Line use the same suspension or not.  I thought Sport suspension would be between SE & S-Line but have also been told both sports models use the same suspension.  I specifically avoided an S-Line A3 after reading about the lack of ride comfort.

  7. Hi,

I know this isn't the busiest forum but would appreciate some owners reviews here.

I currently have an A3 8P Sport in which the ride is too rough (I have some health issues that it's aggrevating, not just being a moaner lol).

I've seen a local 2010 A4 Avant at a reasonable price and assume the A4 will be more comfortable...BUT with it being an S-Line and on 18s I'm not so sure and wanted some opinions before I waste the owners time going for a test drive?

Alternatively, has anyone driven a 2010 320d EfficientDynamics and can comment on the ride comfort of those comparatively?

    Thanks in advance

    Tom

  8. Less than a week of owning it and it's broken already lol...

Thought I could hear a boost leak yesterday but while accelerating hard onto the dual carriageway it lost power and dropped into limp mode today.  Still runs and drives just no power.  No warnings on dash but stored fault code is for overboost.

Pretty sure the turbo vanes are alright as the boost noise changes dependant on load as you'd expect.

Are there any common boost leaks on the 2.0PD 140 engine or is this likely to be something else?

Should be getting VCDS soon but only have a generic scanner atm.

    Thanks

    Tom

Morning Tom. If I am right in thinking my 2007 2.0 TDI is the same model as yours, then you have the wrong stalk. Cruise control is on its own stalk to the left of the steering column. There are no wheel buttons.

    Hi,

Yes the cruise stalk is separate, but there are several types of steering module and I've read conflicting things about which one is needed.

I've been told by the dealer that only cars with steering wheel buttons have the correct module for cruise.  But also read that just having the multifunction display is enough for the correct module, and I've seen quite a few with cruise and without steering buttons the same as yours.

  10. Morning all, first post on here!

I'm looking to retrofit cruise control to my 2004 A3 2.0 TDI.  I've got the multifunction display with the reset button on the wiper stalk but no steering wheel controls, so does that mean I've got the correct steering module already or not?

Also with VCDS, the RossTech ones are way of my budget but I've seen a couple around £50 claiming to work with the CAN on the 8P, has anyone tried those?  Or could anyone around Ipswich area code in the cruise for me for a few quid?

    Thanks
    Tom
