  1. As I say the motor itself moves freely when the green arm isn't attached and I can manually move the vents with the green arm but put them together and nothing so I don't think it's a cable. The arm is perhaps too stiff? It doesn't look like it's as simple to remove the arm to loosen it up though

Ok, is the controls automated, ie you have climate control? Or do you have manual knobs to turn to change where the air comes out of?

It's auto, I have been through all the different cycles and as I say when I select demist the motor won't open the fans, when the motor is disconnected from the green arm it moves freely though

Can I ask what might be an obvious question, the fan it’s self is blowing air and it comes out of face and feet vents but when you try to move the controls to make air come out of the screen vent no air comes out of that? Long question lol

Yes buddy, everything else is working fine, just the windscreen vents refusing to open

  4. Morning all. My de-mister has given up and no air is coming out of the vents. Al other vents are working... I have removed the glove box and checked the motor, when I removed the motor and tested it it worked straight away, however put back together same issue and it won't open the vents. Any advice. I'd rather it worked properly than just leave the vents open all the time. Although that is my last resort. Thanks

I'd recommend you check the battery and battery tray. If the tray drain holes are blocked then water can get into the cabin right near the electrics. Which naturally does damage. An easy tell tale sign is wet carpets in the front footwells.

    Cheers

    I'm confused?

  6. hi,

Recently bought an b6 avant! looking at upgrading my bulbs for better vision and life from the bulbs. Has anyone else done this and what bulbs did you go for?

I know you cant do the dipped and main beams. is it worth it with the led's for the rest?

    thanks in advance

    jake

  7. thanks 😄

yeah the car is really clean inside and has a few age related marks outside but nothing that you could spot without looking closely! Having issues with the windscreen blowers not working (think the servo is dead) and intermittent abs/esp lights both coming on randomly, hoping its just the brake switch. otherwise it drives very well and is super comfy. on the hunt for some roof bars next so i can start loading the bike up and going on some road trips in it 😄

  8. Evening all. recently bought my first audi, its an a4 (B6) avant se. 1.9 tdi 6 speed manual. happy with it so far, apart from a few niggling problems lol, fingers crossed nothing serious as i might start to regret it otherwise. its not a perfect example but it's clean with fsh, a cambelt at 141k (on 151K now) came with cruise control as well which is a bonus. hoping i dont need to spend too much time on here looking for answers. cheers all
