    Hello, as above start with a compression test! My 2004 1.6 petrol was burning oil like yours and the compression test showed varying results across all four cylinders, plumes of blue smoke! Turned out the bores were glazed and one of the exhaust stem seals were leaking.

    Hi all, I own a 2004 A3 1.6. Is this known as the 8P? Had it since June 2018 and it failed its MOT in February for burning oil! Set about replacing rings and honing out the bores, good as new! It's a tidy car and wondering about subtle upgrades, do newer parts like the darker light lens' of the newer A3's fit??
