  1. I've been on the thread for the juddering and hesitation issue

My car was bought brand new 2018 black ed (68 reg) and was OK for couple of months, then 4 months in car starts shaking violently at a red light. After multiple times back n forth to the dealership they finally found my issue but no fault code to learn how to fix.

Last month may 2022 car cam up with multiple amber warnings (electrical fault, air suspension fault, suspension fault, electronic handbrake fault) so I though I'll call the dealership in the morning. Next day driving kids to school all fault lights started pinging red.

So paid recovery to garage (not audi but to someone I trust) 48v hybrid battery done so replaced then fitted but something was draining it so much. Fault now dc convertor which I don't know will fix the issue. Final stage of motor ombusman which upheld in my favour only dealership has contested this. Anyone got any further forward with their dodgy q7

Hi when it comes to Audi service and Q7s they ought to be sold with a sticker on the back saying Achtung Minen to denote the serious threat to your wallet.

    Steve

    Absolutely 💯

Car has been in the garage for last 3 weeks and something has been draining the 48v hybrid battery to the point its done. Replaced that and also to say its the under lying problem which is causing this. Audi have a big fight on their hands

  3. Just scrolling and I'm in despute with swansway garages too (not stoke) unfortunately these people don't care just want your hard earned money. Mines was brand new has had numerous issues but even with 2 local audi dealerships agreeing there is an issue they seem to think its fine. Motor ombusman have favoured me in the first case but they are contesting it. Plus the amount of lies its unreal. Hope you gilet it sorted

  4. I know I've not updated on here in a while. Still got the q7 still no further forward. The Motor ombusman gave the dealership the option to offer me a like for like or a reimbursement less usage but challenged them. So 4th year into my pcp car is now In garage after the multiple warning lights coming on. (electrical, suspension, air suspension, handvrake, start stop you name it it came up)

The next day all amber lights went tk red and with no warning car engine cut out (just glad I had nobody behind me or it could of been nasty) car recovered to the garage

Took to an audi "specialist" and they were unsure what could be causing either th 48v hybrid battery, 12v smaller battery or the alternator.

Called the dealership (which is 3 hrs away)  no empathy or any desire to help.  The response I received was you've had the car for 3½ years to which I replied "yes 3½ ice been trying for you to do something about it. Absolutely shocking customer service. It's now with the final decision with the motor ombudsman and hopefully have this death trap situation sorted once and for all .

  5. Exactly it would interesting to start this as I'm feeling so angry as I'm 100% certain like you say dont want to sell out thousands

Best way to get in contact with citizens advice. I'm in Scotland so what would be the best way to go forward and how many ppl would be willing to do the same

I've had my car back for about a week following a software update, which Audi admitted up front may help with the juddering, but won't fully fix the hesitation when pulling away. They told me the July software update, that others have mentioned here, should fix all of the problems...

I have to say, the juddering is slightly less severe, but now seems to happen more often. The hesitation is still there. There are also some new issues that have been introduced.

Since the update the car now sounds like it idles at a much higher speed, although the rev counter doesn't show this. It also feels like it has lost some power (when the power is finally delivered). Additionally, when the engine auto-stop kicks in the whole car now shakes, whereas before you couldn't even tell the engine had cut out.

Audi say they can take another look, but they don't think they can do anything and, because there is a fix/software update planned, they say any additional investigation/work may not be covered by the warranty.

In a nutshell - we know your car isn't working as it should, we know we have just made it worse with a software update, but we can't do anything about it and you're stuck with it until we try another software update in at least 4 months time.

I'm starting to regret my switch to Audi now...I think a quick chat with Citizens' Advice may be in order just in case this mythical July update doesn't work.

That's sounds oh so familiar 😔 when braking does your car stutter until it finally brakes? Lack of power, car has sounded like its cut out on new whilst going down hill and cut out at a roundabout no warning light nothing.

Since my car has had all available software updates audi uk are not willing to do anything about it.  I contacted citizens advice and I'm now in the process of sending them one final letter before it goes further. They know the problems are there and not willing to do a thing about it as it will cost them financially. Legally they have only so many attempts to fix the same problem as it's clearly not fit for purpose and dangerous.

These comments by all you guys have been quoted by vw finance as bish Bosh seruously!!!

The dealership, audi uk and finance arent interested we shall see when I send this letter is sent if they will take notice of it.

  7. Even when they have the software update how confident do you feel driving. So far its cut out on me twice

Audi uk are a joke and so are the dealerships to be honest. If this doesn't get dealt with soon someone is going to have an accident and it will be on their heads. I have now issued the finance with a letter for to take the matter further and if need be court action.

Def speak to your finance (mines is vw) but dont hold your hopes up I wasted 3 months of my time and I was always calling  them. Once you go through the process with them its then onto the financial ombusman to take it further.

Feel free to message me if you want

Hi all, I am having the exact same issues with my Q7, all I keep getting told is that a software update will become available, I am not prepared to wait anymore and wanted the car rejected, Audi uk/finance company and the dealer have done nothing.  I’ve been told the same that it’s a characteristic of the car. It’s absolute nonsense... I have raised a complaint with the motor ombudsman and I urge all of you to do the same, I want my money back on a product that is not fit for purpose and dangerous.. their number is 03001239123, they seemed pretty shocked that Audi are saying there is not a fault with the car yet they are working on a fix for a problem, it makes no sense

Hi simon did you get your car rejected

  9. Hey guys quick update on my car it should I say a wasted year of my life chasing round in circles.

Today audi who may I add I have to call chase them up have said their doing no more even though I have substantial evidence from the dealership their is clearly an issue.

Now it's time to take this to the next level anyone having issues they wont be solved as Audi dont know how to fix it and refuse to admit there is a problem and call this forum bish Bosh (more like hes talking pish pish.

In now taking it to the financial and motor ombusman. Also watchdog will have an email as well. Anyone had their car successfully rejected for these issues ?

  10. I have taken my car to another audi centre where again another technician has felt the juddering this time whilst breaking. I'm now being told this is a characteristic of the car and not a fault, even when the technician said there was an issue. I feel like audi are hiding something here and not willing to admit there is a problem

  11. Update on my situation, went out a run with the master technician and the fault happened whilst I was out with him, engine software update done and a reset of the gearbox. Car is more sluggish than before, now driving the car is shuddering whilst moving, coming to a stop car feels like its going to stall (obs automatic gearbox)  have taken up with audi.co.uk and finance and now in the process of rejecting the car. Can anyone advise if I should be able to get my deposit back help!!!

  12. I bought a brand new q7 black edition (had a q7 old shape before loved it) reading the comments above it sounds kind of similar to mine.

4 months into the driving I was sitting in traffic and the car started to shake and juddder informed My local audi centre and they couldn't find anything wrong.  Then the audi pre sense went off when nothing was around again nothing audi found any issue. After a couple of months the car started shuddering again and I call my local centre again to be told some lame excuse of emissions being dumped from the exhaust lol.

Again in October 2019 2nd time to fix the issue they done an update on the gearbox. Few weeks later the problem arose again booked for 6th jan and while i was waiting on the booking I was reversing and the car started jumping back like a kangaroo effect. 3rd time audi had it for 5 days test drove and couldn't replicate the issue. Two days of returning the car putting the car into reverse again same issue. I'm at the end of my tether paying a lot of money for a brand new car which I now dont have a lot of faith in (I have 2 children of my own and my job is to look after other children) so going to go a test drive with their master tech tomorrow we will see. But audi has been aware this has been a problem after 4 months of having the issue. Anyone else had juddering in reverse?
