How did you resolve the problem? Were you able to save the old battery?

Nah I don’t think so I put some jump leads on it

left the leads on for 10 mins the clocks & ignition lights came back on but it wouldn’t start.

I’m leaving it as it is for another 4/5 weeks by then my foot should be better I’ll buy a new battery & get it running again.

Starter motors take 200-300 amps so you have been reducing battery capacity each time you started the engine. You should have left the car unused and just run a trickle charge once or twice per month.

Ohh ok thanks for the info appreciate it 👍

The battery is clapped out. Running the engine for ten minutes a few times per week will not compensate for the heavy drain by the starter motor each time it is started. Try a mains powered charger over night, but don't be surprised if it can not restore battery capacity.

Really wow I thought by starting it up I was helping it lol

  4. Hi guys.

    Iv got a 2009 A3 2.0TDi 170 Black Edition.

I haven’t been driving it for 2 months now due to a foot injury.

It’s parked on my drive I do start it every few days so the battery doesn’t die out.

I started it on Tuesday & it fired up fine I let it run 10 mins & switched it off.

Yesterday I went to start it & it wouldn’t start.

I realised the clocks won’t light up & non of the ignition lights will come on.

Its starts up for a second then goes off again.

Any ideas why it’s doing this it was fine.

    Cheers.

hi guys so i brought a audi a3 04  and it has a flat bottom streeing wheel but the controls dont work after weeks of looking i think i found out why i need the module out of a 2006 s3 but my question is does it have to be 2006 s3.

    Hi mate

If your cars factory steering wheel wasn’t a multifunctional steering wheel then the controls won’t work

Sounds like an antenna issue. Not 💯 sure but I've looked at getting the similar head unit to my a6 c5 abd think I need a different antenna.

    Cheers

    Hi mate

iv sorted it. I thought it was the antenna but mine has a full pan roof so their is no antenna on the roof.

After close examination I didn’t push the radio plug in properly 😂

After a little push it’s fine now 👍

In that case you should have done form of lowered suspension as standard. My advice if you're changing springs then get the matching shocks for the lowered springs.

Yea the back is low it the front is sitting a iv higher

If it was the other way round front low & back higher it wouldn’t have bothered me

Depending on your model of Audi, you could fit s line springs and shocks which would lower it 30mm.

Don't forget to get your tracking down after you fit any lowing kit.

    Cheers

A cautionary bit of advice if lowering 40 mm I would suggest you get as high quality springs as possible. I lowered mine on 40mm springs it dropped way more like 60mm. Just be careful and stick with H&R or the like.

    Hi mate

Thanks for the reply I use to love my car sat low to ground but I think I’m a bit over that now lol.

Do you have any pics of your car lowers 40mm please

  10. Hi guys.

Ive fitted my RNS-E to my A3 but the radio is not clear at all.

I pulled the head unit out & checked the connection that’s fine.

Its clear whilst the unit is out as soon as I push it back into its place it’s not clear.

    Any ideas why ???  🤷‍♂️

  11. Hi & thanks for the reply.

If the rings/ bore was worn wouldn’t it smoke all the time. ?

It only smokes now & then & some times it’s fine.

when I put foot down it does let a cloud of black smoke but that’s due to the EGR delete

    Cheers

  12. Hi guys im new on here so firstly Hi 🙋‍♂️

Ive bought an Audi A3 2.0TDi Black Edition a few days ago.

Its had the DPF removed & a re map done by the previous owner.

But on idle some times it’s smoking blue & shakes a little bit.

Is this smoke & shaking normal after the DPF & Re map...??

A few years back my Golf 170 did the same.

    Cheers.
