    Welcome to the club @Damask_Rose

Great looking car from a fellow albeit B8 A4 owner, ref one of the above posts another vote for poorboys black hole. Used to use it on a dark blue car and really great wet look shine also good for swirls not that you have any….

I do actually have swirls but they're quite hard to see.

I think your car looks immense really like it,my car is mythos black it that the same colour as yours Dave

It's brilliant black which seems to be flat compared to mythos black which seems to be metallic. Brilliant black probably more work to keep looking as good as in the photo as it will show up imperfections.

Hi sorry it looks like your tied to them, prepare yourself for a ton of vague and B/S reasons as to why there is nothing wrong, after all their prime directive is not having to pay out, the best on the market is Warranty Wise who are independent so you get to choose your own garage.

    Steve.

Thanks again. Yes, that's been my experience of various dealers over the years. If they try to dismiss it then I'll call Audi customer service and/or pay for a 2nd opinion.

I've bought 8 used cars in my life, 6 of which went back with an issue in the first few weeks of ownership.

Thanks for the welcome, Dave :)

A3 saloons look great, would look to one of those when replacing my Golf at some stage.

Hi if it wasn't purchased from an Audi dealer then its worth asking the Indie if they want to get involved, TBH you couldn't see the true extent of the wear on my car until we had removed the front mounts and could see the extent of the rubber deterioration and leakage as the rubber mount face inwards and there is no way of seeing them clearly, the rear mount was obvious as it was like a Rowntrees jelly compared with the new one.

    Steve.

I forgot to mention that I bought the car from an official dealer.

The warranty states under the section "How to make a Warranty claim (UK)":

Contact your nearest Audi Approved Centre or any other Audi Approved authorised repairer and advise them that your covered vehicle is protected by the Approved Warranty All Component cover. They will manage the claim process on your behalf.

I'm wondering if my independent garage could be "any other Approved Audi authorised repairer".

Thanks very much again. Greatly appreciated.

  6. Thanks both. Looks like you need to get underneath the car and remove the undertray to see the mounts, so I will take it to the dealer I bought it from. I got a one year warranty and mounts are not on the list of exclusions, but some dealers do try to wriggle out of these things.

Will update once I have a solution so that others can benefit. Will also try to video the engine movement.

EDIT: I know a good independent garage, can they claim on the warranty on my behalf, or must it be an official Audi dealer?

Hi Steve is right I have had to change my engine/ gearbox mounts they normally start going sideways at about 80k  or five years, they are what is known as Hydro mounts I don't know why because they are full of oil not water and electronically controlled.

    Steve.

Did you experience noise from the mount(s) being worn?

  8. Recently purchased an A4 B9 1.4TFSI Sport - a 2017 plate with approx 28k miles.

Very happy with the car, but have noticed that when stationary and giving it revs, there is movement under my feet. It's not terrible, but noticeable. I popped the hood and watched the engine for movement and the engine moves a little at the front centre. Not sure if this is connected, but can feel mild vibration in the gear stick. I thought it can be an engine mount but there is no accompanying noise.

Anyone got any ideas? Is some movement in the engine normal?

I would be grateful for any help.
