Hi, I am looking for advice on having a dash cam fitted to my brand new A3 S Line sportback.  What make would you recommend as the best and advice on having it hardwired as I don't want cables trailing everywhere. I know Halfords offer a fitting service if you buy a dash cam from them but would this affect my warranty? Do I therefore need to go to an Audi dealer, there is only one here in Northern Ireland or can I use any qualified garage?  I do not want to attempt to hardwire the unit myself just in case I do something to damage the vehicle.  Sorry for the long question but any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.

As far as I no Dash cam fitting won’t affect warranty aslong as the installer doesn’t splice into the car loom which there’s no need for them to do that anyway.

as for dash cam brands, it all comes down to personal choice imo, I’d personally do for one that’s as discreet as possible that would fit nicely behind the rear view mirror.

Also I personally wouldn’t go to Halfords for anything as there installers are far from qualified to be working on vehicles, I’d look for a decent tracker installer type company or local car audio installer they normally do dash cam supply and fitting

Can anyone help. I have an Audi A3 edition 1 and when I log into the app or the website using Germany as the region the only option i get is Audi digital twin - premium steckbrief. I see other people have had this issue so how did u resolve it ?  Thanks

Mine did that at first but after logging in a week or so later on a different device I then got the other options.

Looks great, so you get cars trying it on a lot? Must take a few hot hatches by surprise.

did everyone’s model coke with the Audi phonebox? Heard they’ve removed it from new builds for a while.

Mine hasn’t got phone box, I took the “a3” and “tfsi e” badges of the back of mine and yer it does surprise a lot of people when your having a bit of a spirited drive.

It has no trouble keeping up with and actually passing on occasion a couple of my friends cars…

A newbie to this forum so thought I'd say hi and share some feedback on my 2022 A3 TFSIe 45 Competition in Daytona grey, with high beam assist, traffic sign recognition, comfort and sound pack etc.

Delighted with the car overall. It drives well, handles great, is quick when you floor it yet relaxed when you want to save the planet.

Performance in Dynamic mode is very strong, mpg is great (60mpg on motorways combined petrol and electric, and 300mpg when using EV only). Regularly getting 90+mpg local driving too.

Leather heated seats are comfy and toasty warm, no complaints there.

My only gripe is with the B&O sound system which sounds slightly dull and focussed around the windscreen area. I previously had an A6 Black Edition with B&O system which offered a far superior and dynamic sound experience.

The boot floor is slightly high due to batteries, but as I don't use the boot regularly it's not an issue.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your new car

The B&O in my opinion sounds great, it didn’t at first but now it’s had time to bed in Its sounds really well. I previously had a 2017 Audi s4 with B&O and I say the a3 sounds much better than that.

Cheers, good to hear about everyone’s experience. There’s not enough info online.

Any nice quirks on the virtual cockpit with an etron display or anything?

You can get a few different displays up on the MMI screen. The virtual cockpit has trip computer, you can choose between power meter or Rev counter, you can have your satnav screen on there, phone Info, radio etc

Also has a driver assist option for adaptiv cruise and lane assist etc but to be honest I turn the lane assist off every time I get in the car

Very nice, hope you're enjoying it - got a few Qs if you don't mind?

How do you find the full leather and are the heated bolsters noticeable?

Did you car come with the convenience key? It is meant to be standard. but mine hasn't got it on the spec sheet nor was it an option on the list?

Lastly, how does power delivery and grip feel with and without electric power?

    Thanks

Leather feels great, seats are ultra comfy, I’ve not used the heated seats yet so can’t comment on them.

Mine just has keyless start, I have to lock and unlock it with the key. It wasn’t an option on mine to have keyless opening either.

The grip and power without electric motor in dynamic mode is surprising. The little 1.4 performs more like a 2.0 in my opinion.

Also I’d just like to add that the fuel tank is small and if your putting your foot down a lot it soon eats through it. Mine is only good on fuel (around 43-46mpg) when in efficiency mode.

    Hi all,

Thought I'd sign up and say hello.

Just ordered an A3 45 TFSI S-line Competition S-tronic with the following:

    • C+S pack
    • High beam assist
    • Flat bottom steering wheel
    • 4-way lumbar support

This will be a company car with a twice weekly 250 mile commute. Excited about this car as it's a hybrid aimed at performance - I'm sure it will form the basis of what we will know as the next generation of RS3 and S3 models.

Audi advised 15 months, my lease company says 12. Hoping to get a build slot soon.

Think tax came in at just under £155, I had to pay for the options up front myself.

Do we have many with experience of this car and maybe some pics? It seems to be rare on social media and IRL.

    Cheers,

    A

Love mine.. I have C&S, flat bottom, high beam assist, black roof fails and extended ambient light pack.

It can struggle to get the power down at times but overall it’s been great so far. It’s surprisingly quick when using dynamic mode with some charge in the battery at the same time.

Hi, how did you manage to enter your UK address, I am unable to save the address and move onto payment as it will not accept he UK postcode

I did everything in the above guide but I had to put the British embassy in berlin as my address as couldn’t enter a UK one.

I used safari on iPhone to do it and used the translate to English function built in to safari.

Anyone else logged into myAudi and used Germany as location instead of UK?

I did after reading about other owners having success and found I could have highbeam assist and traffic sign recognition. Others have ACC as an option to purchase.

I took the 1 month trials on both (€1 each) and have just taken the highbeam assist for the unlimited period which cost £120.

Makes a huge difference in the dark mornings and nights.

Hard to believe that Audi UK still shows as nothing available for my A3.

How do you change your location? Also are you using the app or webpage? I’ve tried changing my address to Germany but it didn’t do anything

  10. Finally after nearly 7 months I will be taking delivery of my brand new 22 reg A3 tfsi E 45 S-line completion

Does anyone have a similar model? Wondering what real world mpg is going to be?

Here’s the virtual pics from when I configured it but I’ll post proper ones when it’s here

So,  new to the forumn so hello chaps..

    A3 2.0Tdi 170 sportback

Any how, had the car roughly six months now. its been mapped and its like the proverbial off the shovel..  Noticed a bit of smoke and a slight miss fire mostly in 3rd under hard acceleration. Went to get the map checked out as local garge mentioned it may be a crap map.... mapper said the original map was locked ans couldn't access it.

The problem has got worse now. The car drives great though.

So, here goes with the probs...     When i start the car in a morning, it takes alot longer to sart and sounds very lumpy. The longer the car has been left standing the worse the problem gets, the amount of smoke that comes out is worse also the longer the car stands also. even cycling the glowplugs numerous times doesn't help with starting either. Once strated and the smoke has gone the engine runs as it should. Once warmed up and stopped at junctions/lights, white smoke can be seen coming out literally in the mirror and going past the car it can be that bad.  sometimes if your lucky it won't do it and the engine pitch is fine then it will start a bit lumpy and the smoke starts again.

It's deffinately fuel related as you can smell it quite strong especially if you've just pulled up and reversing into a parking spot and it's really heavy on fuel. If i get 150 miles out of £30 of diesel, I'm doing well.

I'm no mechanic and I don't live on Daddy's yacht so any pointers on problems on these engines would be appreciated before the local garage shoot the parts connon at it

    Thanks Mark

First thing I’d be looking at is the fuel system… injectors, pump etc

common signs of failing injector/s can be poor starting when cold and getting better once up to temp, white smoke from exhaust, misfiring, juddering and generally running lumpy

Impossible to give a proper diagnosis without being there myself but from what you’ve mentioned that’s where I would definitely start

  12. Hi..

I have a 2007 TDi 170 Quattro with bmn engine code.

I have an issue if anyone has any input….

The steering at motorway speeds feels quite loose/floaty, like there’s abit of free play, I’ve heard these can have steering rack issues, is this a sign?

I was considering replacing the inner and outer tie rods but didn’t want to just start replacing things if the issue is with the rack itself

ive just had 2 new tyres fitted and didn’t make a difference

I’ve got a couple of clunks/nocks from the front suspension area too

ive bought new drop links and ball joints but haven’t got round to fitting them yet

Another problem I’ve got is the coolant warning light comes on when cold and then goes off after driving 10 mins or so but I’ve not lost any coolant, I’m assuming this is more than likely an issue with the sensor in the expansion tank?

Also the aux belt tensioner is jumping about constantly and is pretty noisy, I was going to fit a new tensioner but I’ve read that the alternator pulleys can be the issue. Anyone had any experience with this?

    cheers

  13. Hi all…

just thought I’d register to a forum, I’ve owned lots of Audis over the years but currently have an 8p sportback Quattro s-line 170 that I recently bought as a daily/project and I’ve also got a brand new a3 tfsi-e sline competition on order which should arrive anytime

im based in Manchester, hopefully I’ll get some ideas and tips on what to do with my 8p

    cheers
