Definitely sounds a wiring issue then. Might be worth removing the trim in the boot to inspect the wires

So I removed the trims, and everything was disconnected.  I’ve reattached everything and all is working.  I noticed there are amplifiers on both sides, but there is only a suppressor on one side.  Don’t know if that’s right or not.  Not sure why they have been disconnected. Can only assume it was done when the back window was tinted.

I'd like to think it'd come up.witg fault codes. If not then it might need to go.to.an auto electrican

Yep, came up with the fault code B126514

I've had a look too but struggling to find anything.

The guy I bought the car from said that it was the MAF sensor that was throwing up the engine management light, but I’m not sure if those code tie into that.  There’s no codes coming up in the odb2 part of the reader.

The codes I listed were in the VAG section under engine.

I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. It could be a broken wire on the demister. The radio could be a failing antenna

Thanks Steve.  I’ve got an ancel vd500 VAG code reader.  Should it come up in there somewhere?
