  1. Thanks both for your responses. I have booked with the dealer but the appointment is in about 45 days and so, I posted here to check if the beep is normal meanwhile. If it were an actual problem, I'd expect the instrument cluster to flag an issue with the brakes. It may be normal/expected but I just don't know what it is. I have attached an audio file with the beep in question. This beep sound came through on braking only in reverse.

I have set the car on Auto driving mode.

  2. Car - Audi A6 Saloon 2023

Hi, I get a very faint beeping noise when I break in reverse - for example while parking the car. It doesn't seem to be the parking sensor as I get it when there is no obstacle in the path and it's very faint compared to the sound of the parking sensor.

Any ideas on what this sound is and is it normal?

Unrelated, the side bolsters on the front seats are creasing significantly on a new car. The dealer has offered to replace the seat cushion. However I am wondering if it is worth replacing them as having browsed through a number of nearly new Audis on Auto trader, a number of cars seem to have this. It looks like a generic problem with Audi seats. Any advice on the matter based on how your seat side bolsters are wearing out will be great. Thanks

  3. Thanks Mike - yes, a phone question more than an Audi question.

I can force individual apps to use mobile data but then they will use mobile data even when I'm on the home WiFi. I will constantly have to keep switching settings in that case 😂.

I'm looking for a solution where the phone uses mobile data for all apps when connected to one particular WiFi network (in this case - the car's).

I will keep digging and post here if I find a way!

  4. Update - This error was resolved. I'm not exactly sure on the root cause but in case anyone hits the same issue -

    1) I reinstalled the myAudi app on the phone a few times

    2) Logged into myAudi on a different phone (iPhone) and connected the iPhone to the car - got the same error

    3) Logged in again to the app on Android and it worked!

The above steps may be a coincidence but worth a shot.

  5. Hi,

On the myAudi app, when I try any of the features such as Park Assist or Lighting Technology demo, I get the attached error - Automatic User Identification Failed.

I have verified that both the phone and the car have Internet and Bluetooth access enabled.

Audi customer support and my dealer seem to have no clue on why this is not working.

  6. I'm considering buying an Audi data pack (using Cubic Telecomm) to enable use of apps such as Alexa in the car which require Audi data to be bought.

My phone connects to the Audi Wifi hotspot (and I need that connection because I use Android Auto).

At the moment, as I don't have any Audi data, my phone uses the cellular data from my mobile even though it is connected to the car's wifi hotspot.

If I buy Audi data, the phone will start using that, due to the wifi hotspot connection. How do I stop this from happening please as the Audi data is way more expensive than the cellular data.

I'm using a Samsung phone on the Android.

If anyone has found a way around it, please let me know.
