  1. Hello everyone,

I’m hoping I can get some advice on this issue, been happening for a while now. A4 65 2.0 TDI quattro S tronic, currently at 71,000.

when accelerating usually between 3rd and 5th gear there is a knocking/fluttering noise coming from the engine. Tends to be worse going up hill.

I initially thought it was the octane rating, switched to v-power, did not solve, I use arch oil in every tank which helps but not solved.

cam belt is due a change, could this be the issue? I’m hoping it’s not an issue with injectors?

a strange thing I have noticed is the car is brilliant to drive when it is doing a regen, no noise when accelerating, car is smooth to drive feels like new. I assume this from the extra diesel being used which is making me think there is an issue with the fuel injection or ratio which could cause the knocking on acceleration.

    any help would be appreciated!

  2. Hi guys, been a busy year so far not had chance to update on the situation.

In the end the EGR cooler was the problem, had it replaced and problem has been resolved with no re-occurrence since beginning of Feb.

independent specialist did the job and took about 3 days in total, cost around £1200 with the labour and vat, labour was around half the cost.

hope this helps someone else in the future

  3. Hi guys,

did anyone resolve this? Had the EML on and off every 2/3 days for about a month and a half now same P2002 code. Audi A4 2L Quattro 2016.

After reading many posts and forums it seems like it’s either the EGR cooler or potentially the Differential pressure sensor if you’re lucky. I saw on Ross wiki that it could also be the MAP sensor?

  4. Hi guys,

Would appreciate any help with this, I'm trying to do things on my own as the only way to learn is to do it yourself (hopefully with the guidance of your experience).

I want to try out the EGR cleaning sprays which might help clear some of the crap out, or it may not but I thought it might be worth giving it a shot.

I understand that you need to spray this in short bursts through the air intake pipe whilst the engine is idling.

I think I have located the air intake pipe but wonder which part I should unclip and spray the cleaner through. I dont want to spray it down the wrong part and damage something else. I have attached a picture which I have circled and numbered 1 and 2. It looks like the MAF sensor might be connected to the one labelled 1 .

If you could help or offer any advice around doing this that would be great!

  5. Hi Gareth,

    Thankyou for the quick response!

Perfect that's a great bit of information to know going forward regarding the letter being the latest version of the same part.

I intend to purchase a genuine VW part but I believe you can buy Bosch parts that work too? so far I have managed to find it on LLL parts here is the link VW/Audi Particulate Filter Sensor - Genuine VW/Audi 03L906051D . Do you have any suggestions on this? or do you know of any reliable places I could order the genuine part from?

    Many thanks,

    Lewis

  6. Hi guys,

First time posting to this forum so would appreciate any help or advice I can get.

I have the P2002 DPF code and an engine warning light, looking to replace the sensor first before anything else as I understand repairs can be costly so want to rule out the sensor before getting the EGR or DPF changed.

I have the code for the sensor which is 03L906051B however I can only find 03L906051D online, I read somewhere that this is the newer version of the part but wanted to make sure this would work on my car before I purchase the part. The other codes seem to be slightly different on the sensors too, would this matter? My car is a 65 plate so I have the newer shape and design compared the 2015 A4. I have attached some pictures too.

    Many thanks in advance
