  1. Hi, Is there a great deal of difference between the 'standard' stereo in a 2015 A6 avant, versus the Bose upgrade system? Are there any easy ways to upgrade the 'standard' system - tweak the base / treble etc. - or add an aftermarket sub-woofer? If I can find a the bose speakers and sub at a breakers - is it a big / small job to retro fit the Bose system into an A6 ( e.g. take out the standard speakers and fit the Bose )? Thanks very much for any help.
  2. Been looking at various C7 and C7.5 to buy. Can anyone let me know when the driver's manual was added to the MMI system. I'm a bit confused, as I've looked at some 2015 A6s that don't have it in the MMI, and then there seem to be some 2014cars for sale that do have it? Thanks
  3. Phil - is there a particular model of Carly you've bought - anyone else have recommendations on a fault code reader - that is at the cheaper end(!say around the £100 mark? but that can be useful to monitor dpf, get live readings / instigate a regen? Anyone used a Launch CR123x - seems to get good reviews on amazon? thanks.
  4. Tom - ref. the DPF issues you had - glad they were fixed. The problems I seem to see a lot in fo4ums for the 190 ultra and DPF and EGR. Was there anything else you looked out for when buying your 190? Auto gearbox service records? Please could you let us know what the dealership had to do to fix it, and is it a problem that will ( eventually ) just come back again - or are there was to reduce the risk / avoid DPF problems? many thanks
  5. Thanks. Oil change was done by reputable indie, so i'd expect it to have been the correct grade. Is the low pressure oil sensor a big job to replace? I'd read somewhere that there can be very small differences in oil filters ( between OE and an after market filter ) that can be a cause- anyone else know anything on that?
  6. Yes oil filter changed, but didn't get to see it to see condition. No knocks or smoke, performance seems absolutely fine...( but generally avoiding high revsvto try andvavoud the oil l8ght coming on ). Will it need a main dealer diagnostic tool to tell if the oil lift pump has a fault? And if it says thete's a fault, could you tell if that is sludge in sump slowing it, or the oil pump having a worn drive shaft etc. Many thanks
  7. Hi, any help much appreciated - as have a weird low oil pressure red warning. If you drive gently, low revs and gentle acceleration - you can get to 70mph and drive for an hour no problem. But - if late on the school run and push bit harder, hard acceleration - then after say 15mins - when you come to a junction / any form of stop where the revs drop to idle - then the oil light warning comes on. If you dab the throttle, then the warning light goes out. An oil change seemed to solve the problem for say 200-300 miles, then it came back - so maybe clogged up / worn oil lift pump?? You can drive off as normal, but, as soon as you come to another stop / pause in traffic etc. and revs drop to idle - then the oil light comes on. So as long as revs over say 1000, then it does not seem to appear. Any thoughts much appreciated. Thanks
