  1. Never a dull moment with this car, new minor I hope issue. Every now and again randomly it makes a short low 2-3 second sound weird errrr noise only on cold start up? Should I be worried or just minor I can ignore?

I recall my golf mk4 starter motor for years made a loud horrible sweek on start up but I could not be bothered to spend the money to replace as it did not effect driving the Car.

Sorry to hear your having a bad time Richard but this is becoming a too common problem on vag cars. My dad's 2013 1.6tdi a3 and 2016 2.0tdi Passat both burned too much oil for our liking. Keeping working on them though as I do hope there is some factory good will they can do.

    Cheers

    Steve

Nah I can't be bother I've consigned myself to having to purchase edge castrol 5w30 edge every year out my own pocket :( this is crazy. I'm seeing loads of people across the world with this same complaint yet Audi uk say this is normal oil usage wow.

  3. Ok update after talking to three different people from Audi two from Audi Uk and one from dealership. The two from Audi Uk both twisted the words of the article saying words to effect "this only includes vehicles from 2011 and upwards, your vehicles not included" I had to point out that no where on audis article says my vehicle not included as it would fall under the OLDER vehicle classification on article. Eventually I spoke with a man from the dealership he said audis oil tolerance for my engine is 0.5 litres per 1000 miles which is totally acceptable. I do roughly 8000 miles a year so that would mean a lot of top up as engine capacity is something like four litres? Crazy

Ive never experienced nothing like this in my life having owned other vehicles in past (non Audi) to me it sounds abnormal and I can't understand why it's normal for a Morden day vehicle to burn so much engine oil? Bad engineering? Etc etc? Crazy.

Audi UK / BBC Watchdog / Oil Consumption – June 2015

    Jun 4, 2015

Audi UK is committed to investigating and swiftly resolving any technical issues relating to our cars which are reported to us through our network.

As we have stated previously, a low percentage of older 2.0 TFSI engines fitted to certain models have been exceeding the factory oil consumption tolerance of 0.5 litres per 1,000 kilometres (approx. 620 miles). Changes were made to the production tolerances of the pistons and rings in this engine from mid-2011 onwards, and customers with 2.0 TFSI cars produced after this date should not have any cause for concern.

The comprehensive Audi UK Warranty (3 years/60,000 miles) covering all new Audi vehicles has already resolved the majority of these cases at no cost to the customer. For remaining affected customers with cars that are no longer covered by this warranty, we have a policy in place to resolve issues on a case-by-case basis. This revised policy has been in force nationally since the beginning of the year and applies to new and retrospective cases. Qualification criteria are applied in each individual case to confirm that the vehicle has been serviced in accordance with the owner’s handbook by an Audi Centre or other professional workshop which follows the Audi Service quality standards.

We invite all Audi customers who have any questions or concerns relating to newly discovered or previously reported oil consumption with 2.0 TFSI engines to contact their local Audi Centre. Alternatively, our advisors will be available until 10pm on Thursday 4 June, and thereafter from 8am to 8pm, by calling 0800 093 0110free of charge from landlines*.

  5. Mannnnnn my head got spun hard I called Audi Harold wood told him I need a minor service as Audi Chingford said major, minor, minor. He tell me he's been working for Audi for years and that's wrong! Major, minor, major is what Audi recommends he said uve been told wrong. I said ok give me a major Chingford told me spark plugs are separate from service he said no that's wrongs spark plugs included in full service price of £329. He even put in a little jab we much better then Chingford. Who telling me correct Chingford or Harold wood? Is it as Chingford said major, minor, minor, major. Or harold wood major, minor, major?

    Dear Audi uk

I have written and spoken to you many times re the vehicle Audi A4 2.0T TFSI.

An ongoing constant issues I have mentioned to Audi uk in the past is the several engine oil level low warning lights, between Audi services.

I have owned the vehicle since August 2015 I have had two Audi Services one major and one minor so far.

The issue is between services the engine oil level low warning lights come on maybe on average three separate occasions, through the twelve months and when I check the dip stick in fact the engine oil is at a low level. I have a rough idea this happens around every two-thousand miles driving overs the two years, which seems as excessive amount of oil leaving me mentally exhausted dealing and thinking about this issue constantly.

You are aware from my files I have spent thousands of pounds with Audi uk franchises to keep this vehicle on the uk roads in its best condition even when the engine suffered catastrophic engine failure.

I have seen online Audi have helped other
owner(s) of the 2.0T TFSI vehicle, with the same issue I am having full curtsey of Audi footing the bill, such as a curtesy piston rings replacement and or other fixes for this issue unbeknown to me.

I am aware my vehicle is outside the warranty period.

My current vehicle mileage is 106719

I am unable to contribute any money to a repair as I am already in debt due to past Audi vehicle issues.

I look forward to your response regards.

    Hi all

this subject has has been doing my head in for weeks. I've spoken to friends, looked on various Internet forums and I'm still struggling for an answer.

With AWD do I have to charge all four tires at the same time?

2015 I put on four brand new mitchlin ps4's today the front pair have about 2mm left, and the back pair have around 2.4mm left.

I know it's preferable to change all four at same time, but I'm trying to watch the penny's, but I also do not want to do any damage to the Quattro system.

So my my question is can I get away with just changing the front pair with two new ps4's?

  8. Hi all

I've been on Halfords website and looked at the leather conditioner/restorers and there's a lot with bad reviews to from memory so I ask here the experts :)

What's best leathers conditioner/restorer for my full leather seats that's at a reasonable cost that I can do four or five seats in one go.

My seats are in good condition have the usual ten year old line creases. I just want to make sure they stay in good condition for another ten years.

Any ideas lads preferably if I could order online or just walk into a shop you guys recommend would be best option for me.

  10. Hi

This subject had bugged me for years. So thought I'd ask my fellow driving enthusiast here.

What's best technique to go around a corner/bend, Quattro 2.0T At say between  20 to 30mph? Re my car it's has a fifty-fifty power to wheel back to front bias and tires mitchlin Ps4's.

The car has never ever spun out on me or back kicked out. But I want to know what's the proper and safest way to corner without wiping out my car ever is the goal.

I must confess to always getting myself in a muddle with me doing all at different times but still unsure of best approach with the set up on this vehicle.

    Do I;

    A) approach corner at 30mph take foot off the gas, then accelerate half way through corner, and power out.

    B) approach at 30mph and gently hold throttle as you straighten up on exit  accelerate away.

    C) approach at 30mph and aggressively  hold throttle with tiny steering inputs as you exit carrying that momentum while still accelerating away.

  11.

Boot could not open without key manually, rear registration bulbs blown, rear fog lights out.

All went at the same time, with the lights warnings coming up everytime on start up.

Took to car to Auto Electrical in East London.

They had it for a couple of hours and fixed the issues in about five hours.

Charged me under fifty pounds, It was the boot wiring hinge wiring loom again three wires broken. (Cost me around £60 to fix earlier this year when one wire broke).
