The V6 's had chains for life unless the tensioner failed
The others had belts
don't wreck the motor for a belt

Probably NO
your insurance will act on your information foremost and D.V.L.A knows everything

Sorry to be a bad-Newser.........D.V.L.A make mistakes for sure but on both trim and engine size ?
really ?
Take it back and get your money back.....it's a Lemon
Yes sometimes cars are pre-registered by dealers too petend that they have been sold when they are really on forecourts purely to keep the manufacturer happy
So D.V.L.A might have it registered long before it was sold
However it sounds like an engine swap............check the engine number because you've only checked the body
My guess is at some time the engine has popped and been replaced from a 1.4 to a1.6............probably on the cheap from a breakers so uninsured if not declared
Huge fine and six points if not declared............even prison if you kill someone whilst driving
Contact D.V.L.A asap
Did you pay much ? and what mileage is it showing ?
Be aware if its stolen, cloned or a cut and shut you will lose your money and the vehicle
Good luck Bro

Audi Quoted £700 for a minor service !
A6 C6 3.0 Le Mans unrestricted 165 mph monstrer which returns at least 30 mpg

Welcome to the Audi world
fantastic engineering but expensive when it fails
worth every penny for the experience though

Personally I'd use the £500 on treating yourself or the missus
I pay £34 P.A for the full RAC package, including home start and it covers me regardless of what car or who's car i'm in

Dan
It is copyable (that word again) P.M your addy and I'll pop it in the post (copy that is)

Hi Dan
Got this afternoon off will try to copy it for you
Different subject regarding Bluetooth, I don't have a phone connector in armrest but MMI says I have Bluetooth and gives me the serial number and Bluetooth address of the car.........when trying to connect it says phone switched off, I then go into menu that has switch phone on and nothing happens.
When I tell the car to find Bluetooth devices it searches but doesn't find any
Anyone on group with VIN build sheet access before I waste money only to be told car hasn't got Bluetooth BY Audi
Reg EA 07 AUU
VIN WAUZZZ4F27N118772
Many thanks

Hi Dan
Now have the handbook CD, MMI CD and sat nav CD
Be happy to burn you a copy F.O.C but think that they may be uncopyable (if that's a word)
Be happy to post the handbook one to you for you to do yourself
I have a Le Mans 3.0 tdi Quattro avant but I believe the basics to be the same for all C6 variants

Hi Paul and Tom
Please excuse a "joint" response
Its a 3.0 with F.A.S.H up to 131k.....it has 138k on the clock
I have had loads of new out of the box high end cars as company vehicles with less than 10 miles on the odometer upon delivery and normally changed them at 100k or every two years but this is my first "new to me" one that I actually own and have responsibility for the cost of running.
I drove them and called the dealer when they broke knowing the bill was irrelevant to me.............reality now bites back with a vengeance. hence all the questions, it's now upfront and personal.
I've a little bit of girly giggles, excitement and trepidation so please excuse mundane (read as "sigh heard all this before") questions, I will simmer down

HI Paul and Tom
Thanks for an intelligent response, I was about to dump his forum, you have given me renewed hope after the initial stupidity I received
I'm buying a 3.0 V6 desease'l with electric heated memory seats, high MMI, Xenons, dimming mirrors et al ..........boys toys heh heh
I forgot to check for Bluetooth which in this day and age carries 6 points and a £200 fine if not hands free
So if I understand correctly the only way to check is to ask my Iphone if it can find the car ? and follow pairing protocol
IF it doesn't how much would you (purely as advice) stab the dealer for a discount ? (cost of retro fit)
secondly how do I tell what bhp its churning out and is a remap at 138k too much to ask of the engine ?
Sorry to ask benign questions .............still learning xx
If you need help with Pinball....reply off forum.......... there is much better than attack from Mars imho
MM
Sorry Tony (for the pedant)
-
Thanks Envy x
Is this forum always like pulling teeth ?
I thought it might be about enthusiasts exchanging info and spares knowledge et al ? Appears thus far to be "mines bigger than yours"
Apart from you I've only had sarcasm and questions about my moniker
For the record my name is Tony Mellows and I'm known as Magic Mellows on a pinball forum (which does the afore mentioned) because I have a passion for restoring Pinball Machines and my speciality machine is called Pinball "Magic"
back to my subject
The dealer offered the aforementioned acronym's but from your kindly posted photos their is no way a C6 variant could have these as they appear to be post 2011 model
Envy..............as your the only one talking sense in your opinion would a C6 on a '06 plate have Bluetooth ?
Thank You
MM
Or to keep the Pedants' happy

Probably been covered a thousand times but I cant find the answer
'07 plate Le Mans 3.0 Tdi
Had a problem with automatic tailgate it used too click click click on opening and have trouble locking on close ...my garage replaced the latch with a genuine Audi part and now it only opens six inches and then shuts again, on the odd occasion that it opens fully when I press the close switch it SLAMS shut violently
it will work normally if I don't use the boot for a few days and reverts to this problem very quickly
Have tried the holding the close switch for ten seconds to reset height
I'm sure you guys have the answer without me giving my main dealer a months wages
Thanks in advance
Tony
