£1200 for a clear bra ? Sounds way to expensive You can wrap whole car for that price...

I checked different suppliers and £1200 came as the cheapest compare to others in the area. Do you have a link for a different provider?

I'm having a nervous breakdown here for you Ruben, just on the thought of what you are going to be worrying about next and Audi are going to extract out of your  wallet.

Yes 🙂 Worrying too much but I assume everyone goes through the same when they are new to car ownership.

At least the waiting is almost over.

I hear of sigh of relief from the wallet direction! But a groan from the salesman's wife who might not get her new dress now.

Don’t get the impression they get commission on those as I believe it is handle directly by Volkswagen Finance. Gap insurance and all the other extras are, in my view, where they get the money. They were more keen on that one and I had to chase them to actually get a quote on the service plan.

Hi Ruben, I'm not surprised you're excited!

Paint protection can't protect the paint from a stone hitting a car at speed. It'll probably help reduce the damage but it can't stop stonechips etc.

    Cheers

    Steve

    Thanks for that Steve.

I guess a respray would be better if I am actually bothered by the stone chips.

Am I right to assume a respray to the affected area would be possible in case of stone chips? Wondering what is the likely cost of it.

  5. Hi everyone,

Collecting an A5 TDI coupe next week. Very excited about it. Still wondering on whether or not is worth it to get a Paint Protection Film to avoid stone chips.

Cost would be around £1200 for the front. I could respray for a fraction of it at least twice within 4 years which is likely to be the same price as the film protection. Appreciate any feedback or views on this.

    Thanks!

It was a joke Ruben! The Welsh and the Irish laugh to themselves- the Engish are on a learning curve ( am I allowed to say that!?)

cambelt - never in 40k  or 4 years.

clutch . Current A3 on 146k on original clutch.

    Kind regards,

    Gareth.

Got the joke Gareth 🙂 Thanks for the response. I am tempted to just cancel the agreement within the 14 days cooling off period.

  7. Thank you very much for everyone that contributed.

Gathering from the responses it seems Audi Complete care is an overpriced plan. I went ahead as I got the original price quoted. I can still cancel the agreement so I will think about it for a bit longer and decide on whether or not to keep it.

    Hi Ruben

Yeah you got fixed service plan costs.

Cam belt is recommended for change every 5yrs or 50k miles whichever is sooner. It's recommended that the water pump is changed at the same time.

Clutch I'm not sure about though. I'm sure it's like the brakes as it wears in relation to your driving style. Only ever changed one clutch and that was on my old Escort at 100k miles.

With that in mind you should look at how many miles the car has on it when you collect plus how many miles you will put on the car over how many years you will keep it.

    hope that helps Adam

    Hi Adam,

    Thanks for the response.

It is a factory order so 0 miles. I am likely to do 16k miles per annum over 4 years ownership.

Cheques for significant money saving advice can be made payable to ' Gareth@.........'

I can send a cheque to your preferred charity if that helps 🙂

So I get the impression only newbies like me are paying for this service plans and if ownership is within 4 years not really needed.

I was concerned with the prices for replacing/repairing certain parts.

How often do you replace a cam belt? Clutch?

  10. Actually they just told me it is £48 as I am on a 49 month agreement. I decided not to go ahead and complaint to Audi due to the extra cost for 1 more month.

I was keen on getting it not just for the service but what if the car needs brake pads, clutch replacement or other additional things included on the service/maintenance plan. I may just be completely wrong (probably I am) and you are right that i am being overcharged for just a few services.

    Hello Rubén,

Just noticed your last October date  on the original post, and dint realise Rockindic had given it the kiss of life. Apologies for my well out of date advice.

So it's gone or going! Well done you - I don't buy a new pair if shoes every six months!

Service plan on A5 -£44 and pricey?      Not sure how often you are paying the £44.

19k service intervals too long? That interval was what I was referring to as a Longlife schedule.

    Kind regards,

    Gareth.

You can tell I am not very good at forums!

For the A5 is £44 is per month for a 4 year contract. Service and Maintenance only and . £58 for Service/Maintenance and Tyres.

New to car ownership as the Q5 was our first vehicle and I have no clue what additional costs are involved within the next 4 years.

I am planning to get a tyre cover separetely as it would be cheaper to just pay £58 per month.

  12. Apologies for the delay replying.

I went ahead with the service plan. Only doing 10k per annum not per hour 🙂

It has been almost 5 months of ownership and everything is going well so far. I had to take the vehicle twice for some minor issues (automatic boot and lane assist).

Now I am about to receive an A5 and the issue with audi complete care was considered again. £44 for 16k per annum only service and maintenance which seems pricey but at least provides peace of mind.
Regarding additional packages, yes I was offered the overprice gap insurance and other things but bought them separetely from direct gap (good prices and for a further discount I suggest contacting Elizabeth directly).

What bothers me is that the service plan on the A5 only includes service every 19k miles as opposed to yearly

  13. Hi,

just placed an order for an Audi Q5. It would be my first car. I have been offered the Audi Complete service and maintenance for either 3 or 4 years. Just wanted to know views whether or not is good value for money. I am unlikely to do more than 10000 miles per hour. Any advice on comments on the matter will be appreciated.

    Thanks
