Thank you, I was initially searching about because of what I thought may be an issue with my A3, after short journies, after switching off the engine, a fan would kick in and I could smell like burning oil. Looking through the forums, it seems it may be a common thing :) we had had a whole new gearbox earlier this year (7 speed auto) and as it’s an ‘11 plate, although serviced regularly, I do start to worry whenever I hear an odd rattle or smell burning lol.

They’ve been fabulous :) was a bit nervous joining an established group.

Yeah, everyone seems really helpful, and knowledgeable too. Nice to finally find a great forum community
