  1. Hi Taza To have the work done at a dealership, you'd be likely to pay anything from £1200+ mostly due to the £100 hourly rate. Unfortunately I can't suggest a garage to you but you should find a reputable specialist on the internet. You would be looking nearer £700 going to a specialist rather than main dealer. Hope that helps a little Q
  2. Hi to everyone on Audi owners club, my name is Q I have just qualified as a mechanic and work in a small local garage. I have been a BMW fanatic up until recently when I purchased a 99 2.4 V6 A4 cheap. Impressed with the handling and power *not bad on fuel either* I then decided to take the risk of buying a cheap 97 A4 Avant 2.8 V6 30V Quattro. It was in need of some minor repairs to get it through its MOT.I now am a very proud owner of a cracking car for less than 500 quid. Living in wales this car certainly comes in handy when the weather gets bad which in all fairness is the majority of the time I look forward to contributing to this club as much as I can
  3. Hi Jimbo 8 My main experiance as a mechanic is from working on BMWs which the majority of their engines use chain drive, the general rule with their engines is that the chain is good for 300 + thousand miles unless servicing has been neglected or the car has been driven like it were stolen from day one . I will look on Elsa Win later for you, but I very much doubt there is any need to be concerned with the chain on your motor. Ensure you change the oil at the intervals required and you should have problem free motoring for many years to come. Q
