Thanks sshooie. I haven't had much luck with this car. Bought from Chelmsford a year ago. Kept us waiting for two hours when we had driven 3 hours to collect and the appointment had been booked for two weeks. Had ongoing oil consumption problem which I suspect is actually down to Chelmsford not replacing oil correctly after pre-sale service. Been backwards and forwards for oil consumption checks. Hereford then did service earlier this year and fitted wrong sump plug which resulted in an oil leak and spoiled tray so just been back to have that repaired and replaced. Now MMI. Needless to say, I have spoken to Audi UK several times already about the oil issues. They seem to have a very strange attitude to dealerships and deny all responsibility for anything that dealers do no matter how much I point out that actually they manufactured the car and appoint the dealers to represent their valuable brand. Weirdest marketing strategy I've ever come across especially for a supposedly premium brand. I read somewhere that a leak in the rear window wiper can affect the control unit which is located in the same area I believe, however, I cannot find that reference anywhere online now. R
  2. Thanks Gareth. It appears that Chelmsford Audi from whom I bought it probably didn't put enough oil in after the pre-purchase service! At least I don't have a consumption problem. And now the MMI has failed and have been quoted replacement cost of £2000. I had high hopes of Audi ownership but sadly I rue the day I ever walked onto an Audi forecourt. best wishes

I have a 2012 Q3 Quattro Tfsi and the control unit for the MMI has failed. Local dealership advised that £2,100 to repair. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? I am now left with a car that I can't ever sell unless I replace/repair the MMI. Bought from Chelmsford Audi in April last year but Hereford Audi advise that warranty won't cover it. Any ideas? I can try Audi UK. Second hand maybe but where would I source that and get it fitted? Thank you.
  4. HI I have a late 2012 Q3 Quattro TFSI which has done 73,000 miles. I bought it a year ago from a main dealer and have done 10,000 miles this year. I have had to top the engine up four times with a litre of oil. I've read loads of articles online about problems with excessive oil consumption. Its booked in for an oil consumption test and Ive spoken to my local dealer (not the one i bought it from which is three hours away) and Audi UK. I am told that neither the Q3 model or my engine are affected by the publicised issues and that a litre of oil every 600 miles is normal. I've owned BMW's, VW's, Saabs in the past and never had to add oil. Advice/comments please. Thanks
