It's now sorted. When taken into the garage it first thought to be something on the aux belt. However the belt was removed and the noise was still there. So attention turned to the Cam belt. I asked them to replace it and the water pump as it was 2 years overdue anyway. The noise was coming from a Cam belt tension arm, and the water pump was leaking anyway. Thank you for all your help.

Thank you. Is this the aux belt or cam belt do you think? Its due cam. I am selling it so not planning on spending too much, just need the squeek sorted idealy.

Thanks for the kind welcome. Its sounds like a squeek. I think i have narrowed it down now and its going in to garage next week.

Gareth, I am handy with a spanner but only with certain tasks, such as breaks. Someone who also knows about cars had a listen in person and thinks its something to do with auxillery belt as well. Its booked in on Friday so will see. Thank you for your comments, Tom

Good Afternoon. I am a new member to this forum. I was hoping someone might have an idea what this noise is in the attached video. I have owned the car for a year and it has always done it. It happens after 10 seconds after a cold startup when left to idle, it goes after a few mins. You can hear it better towards the end of the video when the mic is near the wheel arch. Millage is 55k. 2011, A3 S Line 2.0 TDI. Any advice would be much appriciated! Thank You 20180429_145503.mp4
