  1. Hi Scott its possibly a broken wire,on the drivers door !pull out the rubber boot from the door pillar into the door which holds the electrics harness and look inside for a broken wire, the problem could be either door so look to the rear door also if no joy at the front, hope its this as its a common issue and an easy/inexpensive fix good luck
  2. Aye Joe camera was already fitted to my car when i bought it,garage that sold me car had no idea it was there and there was also a rear view morror monitor fitted over original mirror they hadnt noticed either,i think because it wasnt working is the reason they didnt see it,i first noticed the mirror when i adjusted the mirror and it came of in my hand but the wire held it in place(original mirror still in place) that got me thinking what this was and googled it turns out it was a rear view mirror with monitor so i looked at rear for a camera low and behold i found it disguised as a number plate light with light too,i then got to work on finding out why it wasnt working, turns out camers was already wired to reverse wires and had a transmitter attached, the monitor was hardwired to interior lights but had no reciever so i had a couple of video cables hanging around the house so joined them together via crimps and good old insulating tape to give me enough length to run it through boot along the car floor up into dash along windscreen and along the top where interior lights are plugged the other video end into monitor put ignition on car into reverse and up came the picture clear as day,a right result i think!
  3. Look to the wire loom that runs inside rubber conduit between door and car body, wires are guilty of breaking inside,This is a common fault!!
  4. Noted this was posted January and you may have found a solution by now but i have a number plate light mounted rear view camara on my 2009 a3 cabriolet and the view is great, plenty online sellers out there and not that expensive, hope this helps
  5. Thanks for the advice, spoke to garage who sold me car(they werent aware of the differing size profile) this morning about tyres and they are happy to change front profile to the standard size free of charge(hats off to them)
  6. Hi guys, girls as above driver door window drops a little but passanger doesnt, highlighted this to garage that sold me the car and as promised they will fix it for me,they sent it to an independent auto electrical firm for diagnosis they confirmed it was the window regulator, but my query is if it was the regulator wouldnt that mean the window wouldnt go up or down period?other than the drop down on door opening command the window is working fine, door locks with fob and interior light goes on when open and out when closed, iwas thinking maybe the door switch was at fault!!! Anyone had this or heard of this issue
  7. Thanks cliff thats something i can share with the garage and hopefully they wont argue over as it could be a safety issue
