  3. I've got an 07 A4 estate, high milage but in pretty good condition - other than the fact the multitronic gearbox issue has arisen. There's vibration at high speed, the PRNDS has turned red, it occasionally slips out of gear, and there's the occasional knocking sound. The garage (Audi indy) have suggested doing a filter and oil change - either £199 or £407 depending on what type it is. If this doesn't work, the repair is into the thousands to replace it (on top of the first option). Q1 - is it even worth trying the 'change oil and filter' option? Does this ever work? Q2 - The repairs may be more than the cost of the car itself. Do I scrap it now, not even try to get it fixed? Q3- Skip the original quick fix, and just replace it? Pretty miserable about the whole situation, ideally wouldn't scrap an otherwise shiny car. Any bright ideas?
