  1. Have anyone else else heard of similar issues after Aux Heater Element Recall??? So following a recovery due to the dash board indicating the car was overheating "but it isn't" I had the car to a local independent who diagnosed it to a fault in the dash but he didn't have the equipment to fix it. Also realised that the car had just been through the Aux heater element recall in April and everything was fine before that. The precedence here was after the previous emissions recall last year my wing mirrors would not retract and kept moving to a default position which I constantly had to change during driving until I got it back to Leicester Audi. Aside from the temp gauge showing over heating the passenger side mirror is again defaulting to either fully up to the sky or down to the ground. So back to Leicester audi today where I told them of the previous code found by an indy and informed about the mirror and all the above. Rather than any apologies it was that will cost you £120 for another diagnostic and its nothing to do with the recall from the service centre manager. I had no option to refuse but wasn't going to lie down as I had afore mentioned precedent which they were not interested in or my continued custom as I was looking at the Q5 next. 1st phone call back saying they couldn't find a fault logged and the temp gauge hadn't moved and the mirror was fine. Qu. How far have you road tested it. Ans - short trip. Got them to run an extended trip and well blow me the censor alerted and the temp gauge went to show over heating but all diagnostic temps were fine. So they wanted to charge me £120 for info I already gave them. So they look at it further and can't find a fault and now want to conduct further diagnostic investigation at over £500 even before they find the suspected wiring fault or faulty component in the dash, allegedly, all the while making me out to be the issue and not a consequence of their recall. Suffice to say I did not authorise the second diagnostic and now look for a reputable indepenent audi specialist near Leicester to consult. 2. Hi had to be recovered yesterday as temp gauge alert came on and needle would rise above 110. Topped levels ran at idle as advised still rising. AA could find no fault leaks or anything. Only thing was reading 105 on diagnostic and 90 on car gauge. Set off again and as soon as I got going needle rose and warning sign came on so got recovered. What are your thoughts please. Thermostat/electrical problem/impeller water pump? Is this a common fault. Mileage 67700. Regards Rich Walsh
