  1. I just bought a 178k Bitdi for £6k. It's got a full history with oil changes every 10k miles but gearbox oil not changed (or at least can't find any record). Drives like a dream and in great condition. Spoke to owner who had it from registration until 2021 and also his mechanic who looked after it once out of warranty. Been through 2 others in quick succession with less miles but again service schedule maintained. So it's a good car with a good provenance. Last guy did rear air suspension, serviced and gave it new tyres. This car has been loved! But I am terrified the thing is going to crap out - I have read too many horror stories about turbos, compressors, gearboxes, DPFs and EGRs and that it's just a matter of time. Am I mad? would you guys have done it?
  2. Is an upgrade worth it? Anybody owned both, pref. 3.0 TDIs? Would be interested any comparisons - driving, ownership, niggles, etc. Have an option to p/x my 59 plate C6 (165k) for a 12 plate C7 (96k) which is less spec'd but price diff only about £7k. Have posted recently my deep admiration for current car and it is so smooth and has been well maintained so I think 165k is only half what it could do. Also it's a late plate C6 so most stuff ironed out by Audi, whereas 2012 is new so might have niggles. Someone once said always better to by late plate than early plate on any model. Also better the devil you know or time for a change? Would be good to get perspectives of those in the know! Thanks all.
  3. One other thing.... If I keep, can anyone suggest alterative tyre sizes on 17" wheels that won't affect things? Stock is 225 55 17 which are rare...
  4. HI - new to this site. I have a c6 allroad and I've put it up on AT but not sure why! Think I'm a bit scared it's going to start costing loads, but the reality is with 165k on the clock it goes like brand new. Everything works and it's still great to drive. Early 30s mpg more realistic on average, maybe 40 if I drive on the motorway like my mum. It's been an amazing car and I've love it. Does anyone know how long these things can last? Just can't see (touch wood) how it's going to stop doing what is doing! Highest mileage examples anyone? Should I sell or keep it? Worth so much more alive than dead, but my head says I should change.. mm..
