  1. I’m unsure sorry - all I know is he hooked it up to his computer which I believe is a Solus Ultra (from a previous issue I had with sound - still had a pic of it) Then he tested each cyclinder’s compression. He has not stripped it down though, as this isn’t something he gets involved in, he’s also taken it to a more specialised guy who deals with VW, who also said he wouldn’t touch it because it’s a TFSI.
  2. My A5 1.8 TFSI started playing up yesterday out of nowhere, wasn't pushing it at all, just normal driving. All of a sudden as i stopped then turned into a road, it felt under powered then started to judder. After turning it off, then back on again it seems it struggled to sit in idle and wanted to stall/did stall (whilst shaking). Took it to my mechanic who rans tests and changed the normal things he'd see the problem being, but these did not work. Said that when he checked the cylinders there was no compression in 1 but the other was fine. When picking it up, it struggled to even start up a few times, but eventually got it going. Got it home, turned off. Then turned back on to show my dad and no shaking or struggling was happening, as if nothing was wrong (apart from the engine light still being on). Any ideas/suggestions? Been advised that i'd need a new engine (second hand).
