Oh right I see, any idea how much damage has been caused?

It would but that's the peril of buying a car that's a few years old I guess. Still, once it's done then (fingers crossed) there won't be any more major issues ;)
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

Try ClimAir for the wind deflectors they're pretty good

Brake pads I would personally stick with OEM unless you're changing the whole set up or at least the discs too

Haven't had any direct experience with an A7 on 21s but personally an S Line with 20s should be fairly firm anyway. Plus, don't forget to check out the price of tyres... in the region of £250 each probably

Shame you're not looking for silver as they're really common. Will keep an eye out for you.

Thank you, i have sourced some from Germany and will have then fitted without re painting to see if that cures the issue. I am guessing that this may have been a long standing problem as when i had them checked before, the four that are fitted now were not identical so could have had multiple layers of paint on them.
Sounds like a good bet. Let us know how you get on when they arrive! How much did that set you back from Germany?

So the A3 is the one with the snapped cambelt or the Astra?
-
Ah right fair enough. Not too sure about that but I guess it would be worthwhile if it saves you a bit of time!

Hi James,
Welcome to AOC and congratulations on the purchase!
How long do you have to wait?

Just when I think of a "knocking" noise I certainly wouldn't think of a warped brake disc, though it's hard to tell without actually hearing it lol
-
I suspect not, a quick Google reveals only the common iPhones etc:

Going to have to chat to your dealer I suspect...

Out of interest, is it just normal cruise control or is it adaptive cruise control with the radar?

Hiya James
I did request that but they said it was on a customers car. There head engineer said if hes got two cars making the same noise he doesn't think its anything to worry about. buts its extremely annoying spending so much on a car then to have a noise like that.
Just find one at another dealer and pretend to be interested in it if necessary!

What phone do you have Jon?
-
If it was a warped disc you would get vibration through the pedal when braking from motorway speeds.
Knocking more likely to be a worn bush in my opinion.

Hi Jon, welcome to AOC
What previous Audi models did you own?
-
-
Just to clarify is the car with the snapped cambelt the one you're getting rid of or is it the one you're buying?
-
If it's not the bulb/connection, what about the reverse light switch in the gearbox?
-
Hi Mackerel, welcome to AOC
Nice to see a new member from the Isle of Wight! Any photos of your car?
-
Hi Matthew, welcome to AOC
If the car is a 2015 model is it not just worth taking it into your dealer for a warranty fix?

Going to have to do a outer cv boot and have heard that you can use the driveshaft retaining bolt to carefully push the cv joint from the shaft can this be done without removing any suspension bolts/parts like on the older vauxhalls cheers
Worth taking a look at this thread on another site:
