  1. Hi my S4 had a problem with a flooded ECU box (previous owners neglect) and the 2 relays 219 & 373 where all corroded and the fan ran constantly, i paid the man, got the laptop out and cleared all the fault codes, fan stopped running when car was off, so drove home 350 miles, then a few days later it had rained and after my lights, indicators, horn, and key fob stopped working, and then the car would not start so i swapped out the BCM from under the dash with one from my other B6 S4 cleared the fault codes after saving them, then all worked ok, and the car started, it ran a bit lumpy but ok,
then i disconnected the battery as was stored under a sheet outside and did not want it connected just in case and i wanted to change out the problematic relays and dry out ECU box, went to Audi Gatwick and paid the £85 for the 2 relays 219 & 373 now superseded with 645 relay, i de-pined and cleaned and dried all the terminals, 1 wire broke off the terminal on relay 219 on T pin, i stripped the wire and soldered it back to the plug terminal. put the relays in, connected the battery to make sure it still run, And Nothing, it just cranks over. today i changed out every relay in the car, still nothing.
i have done another vcds scan which i will try and attach.

  2. A quick update, I have not done much over the past week as back at work🤪, still in the test fit stage but going wel, ( with the help from the UTE guru's on here. Thank you all again. )
All my tailgate gaps are equal. (Very surprised),
It all straightened it's self up once I put the long wooden spacer in at the top of the tailgate, door gaps are near on equal with just minor adjustments needed. This morning I have been cutting and messaging the rear window surround in place, it is now sitting under the door rubbers and lined up with the fold impression line on the top wall. I'm just not to sure about the bottom corner that sits on the rear grander panels, it won't sit flush, I have sanded a bit but do not want to go to far.

  3. B pillar loosely fitted with a few rivets, and test fitted the front wall, front tray, and bed sides, I had to make a few tweeks to the bolt holes so the bed sides sat flush front and back and also followed the lines over the inner wheel arches, i have a few gaps in places as shown in the pictures. Apart from them it all sit nicely.

  4. 14 minutes ago, Steve Frost said:

Probably a crow unless you've moved to Wales.

Everyone was adamant it was a raven we had about 10 people stop and take pictures, phoning wildlife trust, rspca, and it seemed very domesticated towards men that went up to it, they think it's got out from somewhere maybe?

  5. So yesterday was just a tidying up and getting ready for the final cuts, checked all the measurements probably 10 times 🤓🤪.
Today it took an hour as a raven decided to perch it's self on the Audi roof and would not shift,  I got all the final cuts done and sanded back to the line and hovered all the metal filings up with a paint brush and hover to cut the risk of rusting later down the road. It needs some rust preventative over it and a bit of paint.

  6. No came by boat, and when unloading the amount of people asking if there was a body in it lol, have you put a ad in the wanted section on here?, MIT have some luck, or is there no way of getting them painted?, mite be cheaper than buying and fitting new handles.

  7. Got the doors off, Boot/trunk off, car is completely stripped in the rear now and every single wire, connector all labled, And got all the measurements marked out ready for my fresh eyes to double check it all again tomorrow, measure twice, cut once as my old grandad used to say. And I got the call from shipping agent to say my kit is ready to collect tomorrow morning from 8am.
    So a very productive day.

  8. Bumper is off and the tubing/hose goes into the rear bumper from the blue vaccum cylinder  and tees off into 2 lines, then just ends and hangs loosely at the bottom of the bumper and someone has capped them off with 2 screws ( see pictures ). Am I right in thinking that these lines went to the old oem exhaust to control the flappers????

  10. Hi Steve, yeah that was my theory about the CCM, when I went to collect the car it had been stood far ages and the battery kept draining because the aux fan was constantly running, I had my vcds with me, he put a new battery on and I braved the 300 mile drive home, since then the aux fan has acted normal, no draining, Car starts first time on the button with no chain rattle, put it sown to all that nice heat from the engine bay drying things out on the run home, I did clean out all the drains around the battery and ecu box, and still the ccm fault code so like you say its fried, also I checked the the relay for the aux fan as that's ment to be a problem when the drains block, now for the hunt for a ccm and info on coding it lol, you got to love audi.

    Thanks

    Matt

  11. Hi Steve, Thank you for your reply, yes that's what I read on a few other posts, no the carpets are dry but it has that faint musty smell, so I'm sure it has been at some point, and the ECU cover has no screws in it at all lol, so I'm just going round fixing all the half baked jobs other people have had a go at. Why people can't just do a job properly or not do it at all is beyond me.

Again thank you for the input on CCM unit, that will be getting changed soon, do you know if any B6 S4 CCM unit fits, I think I read somewhere that the serial numbers on them have to be the same??

  12. Hi all Its been a while, I have just bought my second S4 B6 for a Smyth Ute Conversion, This one has come with a few (lots) of fault codes, some of which i know what they are like engine mount solenoid ect. but there is some i have know clue what they are or if its one thing failed causing a few codes linked to that unit that's failed, i have done a lot of searching online and found out what some are.

any help would be very much appreciated

    Thank you matt

  13. Hi all I am new to the site but have been a proud audi owner since the late 1990s, my first audi was a 1995 audi 80 coupe 2.0l. That's when I first got bitten by the audi bug. Since then I have had a audi 80 tdi, audi 80 2.0l sport, audi a4 b7 avant, and have just bought my dream car that i have waited to get for so long I still pinch myself when I see it. A audi S4 B6 manual saloon in the stunning colour of Nogaro Blue. With only 84k. In what I think is original condition, which is the way I want to keep it. So no crazy body kits ect going on as i want as original as possible.

I am looking to go to a few audi specific car shows and enthusiast days/club meets to meet like minded people and learn a lot along the way, I dont know of any near me in Surrey but do know audi international day is on in October so will be heading to that as not to far from me. If anyone know of any other I would be happy to hear your suggestions.
