Hi has anyone had an issue with the o/s/f brake caliper sticking on ,reason I ask is the piston slides in and out easily also the guide pins are free although the top pin was tight to come out  , this I thought was the reason for the caliper sticking on , after freeing it off I took it for a gentle run about 5 miles O/s caliper hot n/s caliper cool .Only thing I can think off is the caliper piston is sticking at a certain point ie the current pad thickness ( pads are brand new with about 2200 miles on them any thoughts would be appreciated. Does anyone know does a 2008 a4 2.0ltr Tdi SE when changing the car battery does it need encoding the Main Stealers are looking to charge me £320 for a car battery and encoding 

Car still not starting properly the oil thing was a separate issue.I got an Audi technician on the case now.will let you know the results

I agree totally will keep a watchful eye on the oil level still not got the starting issue sorted problem is now NO FAULT CODES are flagged up I have spent many hours checking harness I think it's either broken wire from ecu or temp switch being faulty but no codes strange 

Just came back from local garage (Aston Martin workshop) I know the manager he put it on his machine no fault codes found strange .I started the car up for her she was running late ,I think she stalled and panicked, car was in the middle of a junction turning right .I tried to start it no joy it was just turning only warning sign was oil level low top up .Topped it up mind you car was facing down hill a fair bit once oil level was on the mark it started ,Peter the manager at the workshop stated he has come across a couple of Audi that have the sensor to stop car starting if really low on oil , so it's drive with care and watch oil level other than that it a beautiful car 

Hi Steve I was not driving the car my wife was ,she said the car cut out at road junction low oil light came on  she managed to get the car off the road it I turned up car was turning over but not firing ,I checked and topped oil up car started and it's been fine since strange indeed.Thanks for the reply Derek

Hi has anyone come across this problem wife took car out on a school run she broke down about 4 miles away oil level light on the car was facing downhill I got there car would not start .checked oil level just above low mark I topped it up car started no issues.So the question is this is it a safety feature that when the oil gets very low the system shuts down to save the engine .Any thoughts would be appreciated. Car runs perfectly 

Hi does anyone know what relay 404 does it's 40 amp and I have 4 plugged into fuse box b I swapped them around and my a4 starts better I googled the part no .on onlineparts.co.uk it says it for glow plugs am not sure though anyone got an idea the Bosch part no. 7MO 951 253C

I might be barking up the wrong tree the intake manifold flap also causes the light to come on

Those reading are from the OLD glow plugs the new plugs are all 0.3 ohms resistance brand new plugs am going to check the harness tomorrow but also the fuses in the engine bay compartment Ross tech inform me that's the next step

Sorry I replaced the glow plug module then changed all 4 glow plugs with OEM  plugs cleared fault code started engine emission light back on. No.1 plug had 169 ohms resistance No 2l plug had 191 ohms resistance No 3 & 4  0.4 ohms resistance any ideas why the light still comes on am I missing something a fuse perhaps ?

Ok chaps I need your combined help my son In law ran the codes on my A4 2.0ltr Tdi SE it came back glow plug module (emissions light on ) I renewed the module cleared fault ,started the car engine cold it took about 20secs to fire , I did a resistance check on the glow plugs no 1& 2 191ohms no.3 & 4 .06 ohms so I changed all 4 with own parts .cleared the fault code again lo and behold emission light back on HELP 

Hi anyone got a 457 glow plug module for sale mine looks like it's on the blink ran vcds last night pre heat time an incredible 300msecs or 1/3 sec thought it should be at least a few seconds any thoughts chaps.Derek

Thanks I thought so it's going in to get a new ignition key encoded so will be giving strict instructions NO FIX ,NO SOFTWARE NEEDED NO UPDATE 

Hello new A4 owner here although not a new Audi owner have owned audis particularly 4 coupes an A2 ,an A6 and finally an S2 . My car is a 2008 A4 2.0ltr Tdi SE  my question is this it's got a recall for emissions I have noticed loads of complaints about "the fix" is it worth getting it done or not I am loath to upset the running of the car with a software update.
