  1. Hi all. Bit of help needed please - in the process of replacing my Turbo but the flaming thing seems to be held on by something underneath.... All bolts from the top are off, but I suspect the Oil Return line underneath is stopping it being removed... I have seen the Audi removal guide pdf but it's not clear how to release it.... Any help appreciated as we need to get it off quickly... Many thanks!
  2. Hi Gareth - thanks for the reply. Could be a plan - but the next question would be is that a user (with VAGCOM) do-able thing? Trying to avoid the dreaded trip to the dealers but am running out of options ! Many thanks
  3. Hi Was hoping someone can help me please. My friend owns a S5 Cab with an issue - yellow driver info display warning and dash chimes. Standard car, but bit too much stuff in the boot during a camping trip has put up an ongoing fault which comes back straight after clearing the fault codes. Roof goes up and down ok but will not totally finish the 'roof up' cycle (wont roll windows up automatically) as I think it thinks the top compartment is not fully closed (which it looks like it is) hence the warnings on the DIS. I fully expect this switch to be bent/broken etc, but cannot for the life of me find anywhere which pinpoints its physical location. 1 Fault Found: 0019 - Switch for Convertible Top Compartment Lid Closure; Locked B1186 29 [009] - Signal Implausible I have trawled the net for a solution, but was hoping for some help here. Many thanks in advance for any help!
  4. Hi ! I have an issue I am reaching out for help with. 98,000 Mile car, totally standard Cabrio with no faults apart from this one. Car is fine when driven from cold, Turbo boosts strongly and no smoke etc. When car has been left standing and restarted whilst warm or hot, it will normally go into Limp mode and may light up the yellow MIL light. I have VAGCOM and the following code is consistently coming back: 1 Fault Found: 013128 - Control Circuit for Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724) P3348 - 005 - Electrical Malfunction - Intermittent From the Ross-Tech wiki: 19804/P3348/013128 - Control Circuit for Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724): Electrical Malfunction Possible Symptoms Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) ON Possible Causes Fuse(s) faulty Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724) faulty Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724) faulty Faulty Turbocharger Possible Solutions Check Fuse(s) Check Wiring and/or Connector(s) from/to Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724) Check/Replace Controller for Turbocharger 1 (J724) Perform (Selective) Output Test, the Vane Positions should change visibly and audibly Perform System Test using VAS 6395 See TPI 2016032 for additional information when this DTC is found in vehicles with Siemens E-regulators. That document lists specific environmental conditions shown by the VAS 6395 tool that may help determine if the E-regulator -or- mechanical components such as the Turbocharger itself are faulty. After much web-searching it sounds like I need a new actuator BUT this needs a special tool to calibrate it : "It appears a new actuator does need programming to learn the limits and this is a once only operation . If it's done wrong the actuator is a bin job." Actuator is Borg Warner 059 145 725E on a KKK BV50 Turbo. Thank you ever so much for any information or guidance on obtaining a calibrated actuator. I'm sure there are loads of 3.0TDi owners out there with the same issue. BV50 actuator replacement (1).pdf
