  1. Hi Thanks Steve, I have a tub of Silicon Grease, I'm gonna give it a try. Its not a great deal of water getting in, its just that it drips down the cable and into the Potentiometer causing a fault code to be thrown up AND as we cannot identify where its coming from this sounds like the best solution
  2. Hi Thanks for the reply, that is the issue!.... You do get a little bit of water coming in to the bulkhead that is why there is a drain off in the bulkhead well, and the rubber bung clogs with "silt" We are well aware of this issue and that is check regularly in case the water builds up. I do not know where the water is coming from to run/drip down the loom. I was hoping that someone on here has had the same/ similar problem and knows a cure. Thanks Martin

  4. Hi My Son has a 2008 A4 B7 2.0d (S-Line) and we are experiencing problems with water "dripping" down the electrical cable and into the "potentiometer" (the electric circuit on the side of the throttle body itself). We have had the top cover off of the housing that hold the ECU and its all dry inside and we have lifted, by undoing the 3 nut, the rest of the housing [NOTE you cannot remove the main part of the housing without removing the wiper mechanism and other parts] AND ALSO the drain for the bulk head which houses the battery is completely clear of water. The cover plate on the potentiometer give a good seal, the water gets in via the plug/connector Any suggestions of how to cure
  5. Hi I need to change the engine on my Sons 55 plate A4 S line 2.0d with a engine code BRD and I am wondering if it possible to put the same engine in but with a different engine code. Can anybody tell me what the difference is between the engine codes. Thank You Martin
